I am hoping we win one game. This is different scenario than last season. Last years Rempart squad was one that was so well put together and had very little cracks. Baie-Comeau is good, without a doubt, but they have had some losses and close call games. We have the ability I think to cause them a little bit of trouble.
In general, I feel like this years playoffs are wide open. So many teams are close to each other, all the teams have had struggle games. It's going to be really interesting to see how it all plays out.

One thing I thought was funny was that the Q already had this one scheduled and ready to go, despite the fact at the time, Quebec was still in a position to pass us (as unlikely as that was).
We had a 9 point lead, but Quebec still had 10 points on the table. They lost that night so it didn't matter, I guess the league accidentally leaked the script lol.
If we can get healthy in time, this could be a half-decent series. Not expecting to win the series, but a win or two isn't impossible.
We do have the benefit though of all the pressure being on Baie-Comeau. Consistently ranked in the top 2 overall in the CHL will put some pressure on your team.

You don't think they have several schedules ready to go for matchups with a 99% likelihood of happening? sorry i don't understand why anyone would think that's funny.. it seems pretty standard procedure to me

as for the series itself could we steal one? perhaps
dunno why anyone would realistically think we could make it a series tho healthy or not they are 50 points head of us... 83 more goals scored... 102 less goals allowed.. better special teams on both PP and PK
we literally have no chance people

It has the makings of a shellacking. I feel I'm not one to do a lot of grumbling on here, but we might be looking at going up there and losing a game 11-2 or something like that. They are a dominant team.
I'll look forward to our final three games.... we'll have some good crowds to wrap up the regular season with matchups against some division rivals. The playoff series will come and go and we will be defeated by a team that is pretty much a certainty for the final four and likely in the final.
Then it will be time to begin the off season analysis and start to think about what the 24-25 Islanders might look like.

Honestly, I'm more interested in doing some research and writing a long post about all this kind of stuff....rather than games against Baie-Comeau.....but I'll wait until our season is over before really digging into this important off-season.

Of course they have other schedules ready to go...the format is the same for every Q playoff round unless there's building availability issues...but its not at all common for the league to announce the schedule while the matchup is not 100% a sure thing.

Actually I went back to read my post and I see where the confusion was. I never actually put that they posted it on Facebook as the first official matchup of the playoffs. As for the series, I do fully expect a blowout where we will be lucky to win a game. That said though, I feel like Baie-Comeau is one of the weaker top seeds we've had in recent years (not including our artificially inflated Covid season where we basically only played Halifax and Cape Breton). Any success will live and die with Horth, Morneau, and Bickle.

Any updates on Gio’s injury? It would be a shame if he had to miss the final few home games of his 20 y/o season. oh my bad didn't realize they did that sorry Mika All good, no hard feelings. I suppose I am the one that said we might win a game that everyone is shading. I don't know, I guess I just try and be positive and hope for at least one win. Even if we get blown out in every other game, would be nice to win one.
