We will wrap up the weekend with a two game home stand where we host Cape Breton.
Game one goes this evening. The Eagles still have something to play for as they are jostling with Chicoutimi and Rimouski for the 4-5-6 slots, in which 4 gets home ice advantage in round 1. Also there's an outside chance they catch Moncton at 3, but that involves Moncton losing out (in regulation) this weekend in a home and home with Bathurst.
For us, we know the first round matchup vs. Baie-Comeau is set. We are currently in 15th overall, but could land as high as 13th with the right combination of wins and losses. I'd like to avoid the draft lottery just to avoid the downer of the "what if" should our slot (owned by Quebec) ends up being first overall.... but there's nothing that can be done to change that and it was an important trade from what seems like a lifetime ago.
Two more points on the weekend will match our 61 points from the 2022-23 season, and when you consider we played that year with a half of a season with Frankie LaPenna and Jakub Brabenec and a full season of Jeremie Biakabatuka ....then that actually makes this past season, where we really focused on the play of our youth....makes this season look not too bad, considering.

Good news! Great to have those two on the ice instead of in the stands! Morneau and Michel return to the lineup tonight

Morneau and Michel return to the lineup tonight I spoke with Gio this morning, he said he wasn't in the lineup until tomorrow night. Michel is in tonight but unfortunately we have to wait one more night for Morneau.
