Going up there needing to win 3 to really have a chance and odds are high that they’ll be down loshing(shouldn’t but will), collard(doubtful they rescind the match even if it wasnt seeminglygoing to be reviewed until the puck was ready to drop) and auger(injury). The odds of a game 6 are slim to none

So I don't think you can say they didn't show up for this one. It was a highly entertaining game. But when you take 700 PIM you're gonna have a bad time. Loshing has a suspension coming - his elbow and Leroux's melon are still in Memramcook. I couldn't really see Collard's but to get a 5 min out of a scrum must have been egregious - but they had to review it to get there, so who knows. Good thing they traded extra picks to move up and select Carrier 6th overall to have him serve 10 mins in penalties in the third period of a playoff game though. That's going to come in super handy next year and beyond. #TeamLacroix
I have a hard time believing they will play a better game than that the rest of this series which does not bode real well. Honestly the penalties are frustrating, but to me the best (and maybe only) thing they can do is keep beating on the Sags. They put a pounding on them physically. That's the only chance they have to slow them. I think a game and series like this really shows how far the Cats are from being a true contender.
1. They lack a game breaker desperately. Sorry but Loshing is not the guy I want with the puck in the last minute of a critical game. He's far too predictable and teams are already shutting him down. Mueller is a better option but he is gone next season. They don't have the assets to acquire the star or even 2 gamebreakers it will take to compete for a championship. They will need guys like Collard to step up in a big way to fill those holes. I have no problem with the price they paid to get Collard, but I think it's fair to say he's cooled off quite a bit after a fantastic start.
2. This defense is just plain not good enough, and you're losing 2 20's on the backend. They are miles away IMO. It's been 2.5 seasons and they still can't exit the zone. Flubbing pucks, passes in the skates, turnovers up the middle, weak ass Timbit backhands off the boards. The hockey IQ on the backend is very low. Morin and Grenier should be a #3 and 4 on a real contender. Maybe they get Mackinnon from the Moose and that helps but it's not even close to enough. You also need more impact from a euro D than what they are getting from Zielinski. If they were rebuilding and he's a 16or 17yo then fine, but a euro D on a contender should be a top pairing guy.
3. Can we nuke this ridiculous PP experiment already? Nevermind the Loshing-Morin super fun variety hour, but how many SH breakaways do you need to give up before you say something isn't working with your 4-wide red rover entry that's read like a Harper Lee novel every god damn time. Oh look Morin turned it over trying to enter the zone again. Goal. Let's do that a thousand more times, I mean it's gotta work sooner or later, right?
I thought Alex Mercier may have had his best game as a Wildcat. Happy Easter. Hallelujah. Holy shit. Where's the Tylenol?

While I bet steinman wants goal #3 back and probably thinks he should have had the others. They could of easily been down 2/3-0 after 1
