I thought I would start this new thread to post items about the camp.

should be a hard fought camp, still some things up in the air
do they let go of Fleming and run with Proulx/Vecvanags and then pick up an Oa elsewhere? Or does a guy like Andrews actually make it as an OA?
is Biagio the only rookie to likely make it on the back end? Does Morin make it or does he benefit more from another season in the minors?
Jacob Rhyno is on the camp roster, does he leave after 48 hours?
do we get a euro to replace Sikora not coming?
should be an interesting couple of weeks.
who surprises in camp and makes an unlikely spot?

our backend is definitely the strong point on paper so far.
Clements - Perron Buteau - Laberge Reynolds - Daniele
As for that 7th slot it could be Morin but he probably benefits from another year in the minors or a call-up at Christmas if we sell. I think Dallaire and Austin have decent shots as they both had good seasons in their respective minors. MacGillivray is likely on his way out, can't see him being the #7 guy at 19. And Robichaud likely isn't back.
Deleau is loaned elsewhere and asked for a trade, can't see him being back either.
Only thing is this D core is entirely left-handed...

the forward group is interesting and should be a hard fought camp, there's lots of guys who could make it that had respectable seasons last year. locks? Huggan - Belanger - Lallier Pilgrim-Edwards - Goguen - Sharkey Peddigrew - St-Onge - - - - bottom 6 has more room than expected. Does Andrews make the team if Fleming is gone? Or do we acquire a stronger OA elsewhere? do we bring in a euro forward? lets say the 2 questions are both no, that leaves about 6 slots. My players to watch or who I think could fill out those slots - Arsenault - 1st round picks don't often get sent back down, and he had a strong season last year, it's a good bet he makes the team. Gauthier - also a strong season and a 2nd round pick, likely he makes it as well. Rhyno - highly anticipated prospect who doesn't seem to have an NCAA commitment for next season and is coming to camp, if he plans to play here then he is likely on the roster. Dickson - Unreal season in AAA, but he's 18, he played 8 games with us prior and had 5 points so the potential is there, I think he's given another shot. likely battle for the final 2 spots as all had pretty good seasons - Luke Dooley (strong season playing with Legere and Marmulak) Hugo Cal Landon Paul Zack Rushton Samuel Ouellet Noah Cziment Samuel Frechette (likely doesn't make it imo) guys who have a good shot next year - Will Shearer Xander Boutilier Lynden Larsen Samuel Roy also I believe you can still only carry 3 or 4 16 YO's, can someone correct me if I'm wrong. Luc Legere is in camp but committed to US for next season otherwise I'm sure he would make the team too, same with Maddex Marmulak, committed to US.

rough if he doesn't...losing out on Pekarcik, Sikora, and Vekvanags is a tough blow.

I'd assume a trade with Blainville is still possible, just not sure what type of value we'd be looking at, Blainville also took a goalie with their pick so would he be coming our way? I'd assume so.

We are definitely the worst team at drafting Euros. I wonder if the team can pick up castoffs from the WHL and OHL.
Must remember to thank Montreal for their help in getting him to report.
