Why would we trade 2nd 2025 & 5th 2026 for Baie Comeau Jayden Lazare? Dont think her ever played in then Q. highly anticipated prospect. He was 3rd on his team in scoring (only behind Yared and Rozzi who both got drafted top 10 this summer by SJ) as a defenseman and was also captain. He was also a former 3rd rounder but after having a strong year his stock rose, Titan scouts must've really liked him plus he fits the cycle, I'm perfectly fine with paying a 2nd and a 5th for a guy who has the potential to outplay that value. bonus is that he's also a right-handed shot which is less common to come by. |

I dont think it would have been to finish that trade. Lazare could be on the team for the next 3 years could be a steal or just an average D and we overpaid. With the amount of draft capital we have over the next two seasons why not |

With the amount of draft capital we have over the next two seasons why not mid risk, high reward type trade basically. I'm fine with the price considering we still have 3 1sts (all of which have a decent chance at being lottery picks) + a 3rd for this year still as well. not to mention if we flip some of our higher end guys at Christmas. PErron and/or Clements could fetch a 1st + depending how it plays out. |
