Tough game against a top team that just got embarassed by the Sea Dogs….surely the Cats will come out flying.
Hulton ripped the team a bit in the post game interview, so I can only imagine what he said behind closed doors. Hopefully it’s enough to light a fire under their asses. Need to be a lot better tonight to stand any chance

Tonight's lineup:
Hughes-Butler-Michaud Leek-Powers-Campbell Sim-Stumpf-Shields Flanagan-Heron-Valente
Conrad-Topilnyckyj Kearsey-Sirman Voyaga-Plamondon
Ruccia Hickey
Healthy scratches are Caines and Yuzik Jardine and Goriunov are out with injury, as is Biser (I guess!).

Main takeaways - Isles had a good second period, just not good enough. You have to do a hell of a lot more against Moncton to score, but overall, the communication is awful, sloppy playmaking in the first and third (at least half way through).
Moncton is constantly giving 110%. Even up 5-1, blocking shots, finishing hits. Communication has been great, not surprising given MacDougall behind the bench.
Hughes has been giving a lot, just no finish, Herron looks comfortable. Also lost Michaud in the second, presumably due to a head hit in the first period.

Also gotta think Hickey is going to take the starting job soon.

Can't even blame the defense...just 5 goals that should not have gone in. I'd be sticking with Hickey 💯

Isles were decent at times, but just too sloppy in general.
Moncton is just a great team…a bunch of giants out there.
They really look like a team in warmups when they’re all skating the lines, skating hard, etc.

The team has been so much better in the last bunch of games than the first bunch of games. They aren't a contender and playing the best team in the league. Can't fault the players for tonight.

Hello everyone, I was just going to ask if anyone else was slightly puzzled by the line combinations. It seemed as earlier in the season before the injuries that the chemistry between Campbell and Michaud was stellar. But since Campbell has been back from his injury they haven’t put them together again, even though both of their production slowed slightly. Just interesting to see that (if I’m not wrong) Jim hasn’t tried the combination together again.

Michaud is 66th and Campbell is 110th in league scoring. There’s nothing stellar this season going on with this team.
