Here you go TeleGraph Journal PETER ASSAF TITAN TRAIL Published Saturday August 25th, 2007 Sylvain Couturier is waiting for a phone call. The general manager of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Acadie-Bathurst Titan admits he hasn't heard anything from Martin Bartos since the team opened training camp over a week ago. "We are disappointed with the way it has turned out," Couturier said. "Martin talked to us over the summer and he was all excited about coming here. Then for the last three weeks I haven't heard anything from him." "He doesn't return our calls, he doesn't answer our e-mails," Couturier said. "He hasn't asked for anything. If it was any kind of special demand (he had) at least we'd know it. But that's not even the case; it is just a case of completely ignoring the organization right now." "I know there are players who have tried to call him as well and it seems like he doesn't want to talk to anybody right now," said the Titan GM. "From my understanding he is really disappointed about not being drafted, and I can understand that, but at the same point it is a little bit early for him to throw in the towel. He's only 19 and last year he had a good example in (Thomas) Beauregard who just signed a good contract with (the National Hockey League's) Montreal (Canadiens)." "It's never too late, especially with the talent he's got," said Couturier. "Hopefully he will call us and let us know what is going on." The Titan are also expecting to hear from Cory Smearer of Dalhousie before the weekend is through. "He is in the militia and he (had) a contract until Aug. 24," Couturier said. "He's supposed to call me as soon as he gets here"¦then we'll go from there." Where in that article does it say that Couturier is pissed? I can't see "visibly irked" anywhere in that story. Yes he is disappointed in the way it turned out - for the record he was disappointed with Pat Bergeron stayed in Boston, he was disappointed when Thomas Beauregard blew out his knee five games into the season. He was disappointed when the team lost out to Cape Breton last year too. Let's read further on - he doesn't even say that dirty bastard better not show up late or we'll sit his ass on the bench. Nope - he says - I hope he calls soon so we'll know what is going on. Actually - he sounds to me more like he is trying to use the media to convince Martin to give up his pro aspirations and come back to the Titan. Heck he even uses the Thomas Beauregard example and says - he's got too much talent to give up, or pack it in, or something like that. I don't expect the Moncton posters to ever see the glass as half full, but at least look at it as half empty instead of pouring the contents onto the floor!

After all this, best thing to do would be to trade him. Why bother with a player like that.

But we still don't know what exactly is going on. And as likely as it might be that Bartos is shacked up with his girlfriend at a Holiday Inn somehwere laughing at the Titan as they try to get a hold of him - is the fact that he might actually have a reason for not being here. A reason that the Titan even know about. Truth is we just don't know...

If it was a reason the Titan knew about the GM would not be telling the media the things he's told them why would he hang his player out there like that if he knew why he wasn't there yet makes no sense.

Please show me. You have committed the cardinal sin of insinuating that all things may not be going to perfection in Titanland and thus are guilty of insults and you must be ostracized from the kingdom of Acadie-Bathurst by royal decree of Sir Faceoff.
