to becoming very unpopular if he doesn't show up soon.... All joking aside, something is very fishy about this story ... I find it very hard to believe that there has been no contact with him from Titan Management. I don't think we're getting the whole story here IMO... I don't know, just a hunch.

I think if Bartos doesn't have the decency to return the calls and emails from the Titan ... then he is not worth worrying about. His attitude is not good for the team and the ice time is better spent on a more willing player. His decision will not make him any friends in NA hockey circles.

Once again steve you rip into something where you are lacking the facts. It is NOT up to me to give them to you either. However, try some of this.....Bartos is not a trouble maker, the Titan do not have to reveal all when camp is not even finished, Bartos may have had another iron in the fire and did not want to sever his Junior affiliations and really...you are quessing and badmouthing without knowledge. Some things never change. Please do not respond as I do not want to be accused of yanking your chain. If you don't know "nothing", say nothing.

whatif2 - you have to have the facts in order to give him the facts.
The only "fact" here is no one posting on these messageboards knows anything other than he's not at camp, and nothing has been revealed about why.
By the way, not to defend steve (I'm sure he can do that himself) but he used the phrase "I think if" which is clearly an opinion based on speculation about Bartos' absense being true.
Reading steve's post may have saved you from wasting time responding.... imagine! ;D

ANY team, a beer league team even... and the season is about to start and some guy has yet to contact us or return any calls... then I won't bother. If the guy wants to play, then great, but if he is going to make my life harder as I continuously try and track him down then screw him. As its been said, if he is indeed ignoring all contact I don't expect him to miraculously say "oops, sorry Im late, Im on my way!"... I expect he will be looking for perks of some kind. So you have a guy who basically is making life miserable for the management and the fans, who will probably expect bonuses when he does get around to getting in contact. Now, MAYBE there is a serious reason nobody is hearing from the guy. Lets hope not, or rather, lets hope the situation clears up and he shows up. But if he is indeed sitting at home ignoring the teams attempts to contact him, it isnt the type of personality you would want on the team anyway.

Personally my biggest concern would be the fact that he hasn't replied to some of the players that have tried to contact him either cuz those are the guys he'd be going to war with every game.

Couturier says he's not worrying about it anymore. I spoke to him today and that's the latest word. He says if Bartos calls, that's great, but he's not chasing him. The Titan are more or less moving on as if he's not coming.

If it was a visa problem, it would have been solved in 2-3 days max.
Bartos will not have a welcome mat to host him back unless he has an awful good excuse.
The Titan will probably trade him if he comes back...... I ma pretty sure that what happens now does not bode well with the team philosophy.

Well let's see....where to start......
-You know first hand that players tried to contact Bartos and could not.....Hmmmm...Is it fact OR posted here by a poster?
- Season starts on Sept 14 th and this the 28th...players have been here for 14 days and there are 17 days to go
-Do you actually believe that player communications are any of our business......I don't think so!
I do know 1 thing for sure.....99% of what is posted here on many many threads is nothing more than opinion and conjecture.
Me, I hope that Bartos arrives, ready to play, as a TITAN, because no team can give up on an 80 point player(as an 18 year old) with one years experience under his belt with a "too early drafted player" like Perreault. It is a wish of non Titan fans that Bartos does not play.....hope and wish.
See you in the funny papers.

So you expect your team to welcome him back with open arms after skipping camp without a reason? That's quite the precedent to send to your young guys.

Sorry to burst your bubble but one fellow just wrote above that he spoke to Couturier and the Titan are not bothering anymore. One phone call gave me the same info as juniorhockeyfan wrote above.... The Titan are moving on....it is very clear and they are nor chasing the guy with phone calls anymore. If I was the GM(which I am not obviously), I would despise this type of prima donna acting. PS: If it happens that Bartos got some sort of good excuse, like an illness or something senseful, I will be the first one to apologize to him personally..... Right now I am very far from impressed by his behavior.

I suggest caution before "badmouthing" a kid who was appreciated last year. I am suggesting that "all" the info is NOT for fan consumption at this point if ever and that it is not over until the fat lady sings.
Until it is published in print and officially, I for one am NOT writing Bartos and the Titan off.
Bartos could arrive here this week and some posters could have ,possibly, made some comments which they might live to regret .
You are correct tho....time will tell!

Caution is fine to apply when needed.... In this case we are talking about somebody who does not return phone calls, who does not report, who does not get in touch, who knows that he is late.........
