Let me ask you this - how do you now the Titan went to the media? I can't believe you are actually that stupid. Its not like the tam called a press conference, or sent out a press release saying Bartos was missing. Nope, not at all. Of course it wasn't hard to see he wasn't there so naturally a journalist is then going to ask where he is. And thankfully, the Titan don't shy away from answering questions. Instead of avoiding the issue they give a straight answer and then you decide that you need to read all kinds of stuff into it. There is a big difference between answering a question and "going to the media." This isn't Moncton - the media here doesn't just report on what the team tells them too. The fact that they did not deliberately convoke the media to a press conference and that they answered naturally to the questions asked enhances my belief that they were true in their answers. Was anybody talking to you?

I have to agree with chsb here. If the team knew what the issue was and Bartos was coming back no questions asked, Couturier would not be making it look in the media like Bartos doesn't give a damn about the team. He was visibly irked at Bartos and the situation. It may work itself out and he returns, but it's pretty obvious he's rubbed some(players and managemement) the wrong way, even if he returns, they may have to move him to clean the room. ...and whatif, don't bother replying with your usual jibberish, I don't care.

This is a good one!!! ;D He's asking them not to say anything yet management goes to the media and tells them that he and several others including other players have tried to contact Bartos several different ways and have not heard anything. Trust me they wouldn't go to the media if he asked them to keep it on the down low. Let me ask you this - how do you now the Titan went to the media? I can't believe you are actually that stupid. For amusement purposes only I'll answer you although calling me stupid because I simply stated a fact that came directly from the Titan's GM is rather pathetic on your part. How do I know the Titan went to the Media? Well maybe the Media went to him or he went to the media it makes no difference the facts are what they are. If you wanna read part of it I posted it in this thread and if ya wanna read the whole thing go to the other thread that is running about Bartos I highly doubt anyone wants me to post even a portion anymore. I guess if you don't like what I say your more then welcome to call me stupid I was just sharing an article from the Saint John newspaper that I felt most of the Titan fans might appreciate even though it's not positive at least it's news.

Hahah, thanks 'whatif2' .. I'm not saying I know everything but I do have a say in all this ;; I believe Martin Bartos is going to be a part of this team .. I think he is on his way to Bathurst and that the reason he didnt answer the calls or call back was because he was more focused on getting onto a more professional team ..
Once again, thats what I believe happened. . Im not saying Im 100% right .. but it could be .. we will never know the exact story unless its coming from Bartos's mouth ..

Here you go
TeleGraph Journal PETER ASSAF TITAN TRAIL Published Saturday August 25th, 2007
Sylvain Couturier is waiting for a phone call.
The general manager of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Acadie-Bathurst Titan admits he hasn't heard anything from Martin Bartos since the team opened training camp over a week ago.
"We are disappointed with the way it has turned out," Couturier said. "Martin talked to us over the summer and he was all excited about coming here. Then for the last three weeks I haven't heard anything from him."
"He doesn't return our calls, he doesn't answer our e-mails," Couturier said. "He hasn't asked for anything. If it was any kind of special demand (he had) at least we'd know it. But that's not even the case; it is just a case of completely ignoring the organization right now."
"I know there are players who have tried to call him as well and it seems like he doesn't want to talk to anybody right now," said the Titan GM. "From my understanding he is really disappointed about not being drafted, and I can understand that, but at the same point it is a little bit early for him to throw in the towel. He's only 19 and last year he had a good example in (Thomas) Beauregard who just signed a good contract with (the National Hockey League's) Montreal (Canadiens)."
"It's never too late, especially with the talent he's got," said Couturier. "Hopefully he will call us and let us know what is going on."
The Titan are also expecting to hear from Cory Smearer of Dalhousie before the weekend is through.
"He is in the militia and he (had) a contract until Aug. 24," Couturier said. "He's supposed to call me as soon as he gets here"¦then we'll go from there."

I am sure taking 5 minutes of his daily schedule to make a simple phone call or email woudln't take away from his focus. Heck he could have gotten his agent, mom, dad, cousin, etc to call. If you were scheduled to work and never showed up for 3 weeks, never called and never returned calls and then you show up for work out of the blue. What do you think management will say? Trying out for another pro team or "I was busy looking for another job but I never got it" does not suffice.

I know it would be a big hit to their offence but I think he would have ZERO respect from any of his teamates in the dressing room.
If he is welcomed back, what kind of example is management setting to other players on the Titan. Next year there will be no training camp since players think they can come in 3 days before the season starts because it is "acceptable" by management.

This is supposed to be their big season.
I don't see any good defence, nor any proven goaltender.
And other than Perreault offensively I don't see anything that scares me.

The only good thing about if he comes back is that he isn't a 20 like Sprutks was which made us trade away a solid peice to our team (I'm still pissed at that move as Janus came back out of shape and the team defense didn't recover from the loss of Reid).

Why would the Titan need to scare you? If you go to the predictions section of this board, you will read that just about the majority of people see the Titan as a #1-2 or3 team in the East.

Of course all the Bathurst fans will welcome him arms wide open .. he's an important part of the team .. and it would be a huge lost .. And Im sure he won't have ZERO respect in the dressing room .. He's still the same player he always was .. he's just later .. and Im sure that if you were to try to get on a professional team (which I think he was trying to do) then you would do whatever you had to do to get there .. Also, I know Couturier and the staff are always proud and support the desicion of a player who believes they can go on further .. and theres no reason why this situation should be different from the rest .. I'm sure when he gets here .. he will explain the situation and hopefully everyone will forgive him and go out on the ice and give it their all .. I doubt it that the players would hold a grudge agaisnt one of their teammates ..

Not hard to be ranked #3 with all the mediocre teams in the division. Also there's only 8 teams
