Very bad first period for the Titan: 1 shot on goals and only 6 GH compared to 9 for the Cats.... I hope our boys come stronger in the 2nd..... I wonder why Legros was not dressed with Morehouse in the lineup It's preseason.......they probably wanted to give a look to Smearer with both probably being in the same role.

Somebody else that stood out for your team was Samuel Grenache #9...seemed to get under the skin of alot of players...especially Barbario ( never saw him get mad at all last yr). Reminded me kinda of Lachance from PEI (defenseman). Didn't show emotion or talk trash....but from a fans perspective hated seeing him roam the ice waiting to take a cheap shot at one of our guys!!

I think guys are over doing the Grenache cheapshot thing........he is an in your face type of player that plays with an edge.......but I don't recall him being the type to jump people from behind or anything.......his style is what kept him on the team last year when he got the call up so he will probably keep playing that style............some guys were comparing him to Pascal Morency, but I think that's overdoing it a lot...........he had one instance with Halifax last year, I believe, that had boiled over from something else, but besides that he's not one to go around taking people's heads off........although he could have changed over the summer.

It's not a bad thing to have a player like Grenache....I'm just saying the first time I ever saw him play was tonight and if I were a titan fan, I would love watching him play. I shouldn't have used the word cheapshot so loosely about a player I hardly know, but the resemblence to lachance is uncanny (not so much the slashes behind the legs or gloves in the face after the whistle), but the overall demeanor or mannerisms(the always looking innocent look, but plotting an attack!lol).

For those who were seeing the Wildcats as a rebuilding team this season, they are as mature a team as the Titan are at this stage....18.6 YO (if I rely on Billy's starting lineup for next season and compare it to our starting lineup).....
Therefore they will show intensity and grit.......
I don't expect anything easy for the Titan in these faceoffs this season.

Therefore they will show intensity and grit....... I don't expect anything easy for the Titan in these faceoffs this season. What we are lacking is Major Jr Experience ... several of our rookies are 18 and 19 ... Wilson, Gomes, Eastman, Baca, Bezak, Sill ... thats where the difference is in perceived talent levels. Our Older rookies may turn out to be very good Major Jr players in a short time and we may compete at a higher level than most of us (Cats fans and fans from other teams) expect we will ... but until that happens we appear to be a 0.500 team ... maybe a little better ... maybe a little worse. We'll have to see how we stack up against the entire division before we can have a better grasp on where we fit in. Our biggest question mark is on defense where we are returning only a 17 yr old (Barberio) and an 18 yr old (Pianosi) ... both with only one season of Q experience. If the defence can hold up and play a solid game we could be a tough team to play against ... we'll see. We cut two returnees in Goyens and Tolles ... and although Herr did play a bit last year he saw very limited icetime. I think a realistic expectation is that we could finish 4th in the division ... maybe even 3rd (depends on Lewiston) ... but we could also finish as low as 8th as SJ and SJ's are both better than last year ... and CB is bit of an unknown right now... Sheppard is on fire.

Grenache I was disgusted with. The game didn't even start and he was already diving. When he fell before the face off I just knew he was gonna be a diver. Sure enough it was dive here easy fall there. I know I know Morehouse tends to do it here and there too, just pointing out the facts.

I am no fan of diving and to me the BIGGEST of the bunch is Walker from PEI. How a guy that big drops to the ice that easily (and gets calls???) is beyond me. Last seasons playoffs here in Bathurst he spent more time flopping around than actually playing.

The Cats dicated the pace for 3/4 of the game, I don't think Bathurst got their 10th shot on goal until close to 50 minutes in. Your best player was Legault, he was pretty solid. The cats had a lot of pressure and shots, though not a ton of quality chances, but still lots of rubber to handle. The ice was a bit bad so it took away from the passing plays and PP's...both PP's had a hard time making 2 straight passes, some of it was the ice, some of it was probably timing. Good recap, thanks

does porkchop still think boyle is yellow or did last last nite change his mind? Wasn't around for the game..........but whatever happened in this game has NOTHING to do with the yellow act he did last time...
