Anyone else having problems signing in? I haven't been able to since December 26th. Needless to say I'm severely pissed off. Don't generally have much time to play video games, but I was looking forward to playing some friends at NHL 2008 back at home in the Maritimes over the X-mas break.

I dont even have an Xbox Live account, but I had heard they have been having system issues due to the heavy traffic of Call fo Duty 4 in particular...

I'm pretty angry. If I had received an XBOX 360 for X-Mas (mine is 3 years old), it would be going straight back to the store and exchanged for a PS3.

Yes, there was a problem that resolved itself yesterday where the marketplace, x-box live, and games tabs were down. Either it was year-end maintenence, or something crashed. Either way, you could still get on X-Box Live, only you had to be in the game itself.
It's funny, everyone expects everything to be running 24/7/365(6). When are people going to learn that the only things you can truly rely on in life is that you're going to be born, live your life, and then die? If you morons would have read the fine print when you signed up for X-Box Live, you would have read that the service may not always be available at all times and is subject to be down for upgrades and maintenence.
Stop acting like a bunch of noobs that got pwned, will ya?

This is a service people PAY EXTRA for. I'm paying a monthly fee for something I cannot even use it. Your attitude exemplifies why the Maritimes are a "have not" area. Willing to take it in the ass, to not rock the boat.

(That said, December 26th is way too long so for you, it makes sense to be pissed)

If anything, your attitude perfectly matches the bunch of noobs I just pwned in a game of Team Fortress 2 to the point where I more than tripled the top score on the opposing team.

(That said, December 26th is way too long so for you, it makes sense to be pissed) I could give two shits about a gaming service as I generally am too busy to sit and play it. It just pisses me off that the only time I actually go to use, it doesn't work for over a week when. And yes a lot of people have that same attitude all over NA, but I find it's much more noticeable in the Maritimes. It pissed me off when I lived there, and still pisses me off all the way out here. We sell ourself short all the time with a goal of not rocking the boat.

I didn't realize I was talking to a 300 pound 16 year old, that thinks I give two shits what score he got in a video game.

I'm seeing on majornelson.com that a higher than expected surge in new account signups as well as a couple of technical issues caused the issues with XBL. To try and make nice, all users will be getting an XBL Arcade title for free in the near future. Don't bother trying to get any more info from customer support. They don't have any more details on it yet and I can verify that as I know people on the support lines. www.majornelson.com/archive/2008/01/03/xbox-live-holiday-performance.aspx
