Titan win 5-4....Cameron Critchlow was 1st star of the game...Not too bad for a 16yo rookie!!!

Critchlow has 3 goals and 1 assist so far in 4 preseason games.... Kristopher Schimdt had 8 points in 9 games in last year's preseason........Mahbod had 3 goals and 3 assists in 7 games......don't get too excited about it yet.

Some knew that there was a reason why Mahbod was "let go" by Gatineau...seriously.
Schmidt has not demonstrated the skill sets that Critchlow appears to possess and HE was 18 not 15 (16 in January).
Time will tell eh!

Time will tell eh! Critchlow cannot be turning 16 in January. If he is we have an ineligible player. He must be 16 in 2007 to have been drafted or to play.

Mabey we can rephrase it so no one gets too sensitive.. It must be quite a thrill for the youngest players on the team, to be named 1st star of the game in the visiting rink..Even if it is only pre-season..

Its still a good sign. I was one of the ones on record as saying Critchlow wouldnt be more than a 50 point player in his career.
Pre-season or not, its still a good sign that he can put the puck in the net...but as we all know pre-season is much different than regular season. Travis Randell and David Gilbert have been piling up the pts in pre-season...i dont expect that to continue in the regular season.

Nobody is getting excited...yet But.....it is in the habits of Titan teams to keep their first round picks around even at 16 YO if training camp justifies it. So far I would say that Critchlow justifies it. Here are a few stats from training camp so far for rookies: Lambke(17): 4 1 5 6 Critchlow(16): 4 3 1 4 Jean-Boulianne(16): 4 0 4 4 Bernier(16): 4 1 1 2 Couture(17): 3 3 1 4 I don't expect Jean-Boulianne or Bernier to stay around after this weekend. So we probably could be left with: Critchlow Lambke Couture to compete for 4th line position with guys like Basque, Legros and Labelle. Jezegou,IMPO, is a lock and also should be Faille and Joly or Grenache. Massé/Bartos(?)-Perreault-Svoboda Massé/Grenache(?)-Messier-Clendenning Mailloux/Joly-Faille-Joly/Grenache(?) Legros/Critchlow/Lambke(?)-Labelle/Couture/Basque(?)-Jezegou

CHSB your lineups are always so confusing lol Masse - Perreault - Svoboda Bartos - Messier - Clendenning Joly - Maillioux - Faille Grenache - Lambke - Jezegou Critchlow/Legros/Couture/Labelle/Basque Thats a lot of forwards...Jezegou may have to go if you want to keep Couture around or if you want Critchlow to play most of the games. Although this all hinges on Clendenning playing and Bartos playing.

I dunno why he didn't just include every player still in camp. Anyway...here's my predictions: Masse - Perreault - Svoboda Faille - Messier - Clendenning Joly - Mailloux - Jezegou Granache - Labelle - Critchlow Couture Lambke Labrie Desnoyers Tesink Chamberland Sigouin Renaud Blanchard Tardif Leguault I didn't bother including Bartos becuase I don't think he'll be back. That's still a pretty deep line-up however. And I like the look of our defense.

Faille does look out of place among the top 2 lines (on paper anyway). Losing Bartos is pretty huge as I dont really see a younger guy stepping up and being a legit #2 line LW.

Oh, I never said losing him wouldn't be huge. I agree with you there. I still think overall our line-up is one of the deepest in the league tho. I challenge any team to get the kind of production out of their 3rd line that we'll probably get out of Joly - Mailloux - Jezegou

Mailloux was listed as a left winger on the Huskies lineup last season. Faille was 12 of 17 on faceoffs in his last game in Bathurst Tuesday. Now I also see Grenache as a better potential 2nd liner than Jezegou.

The Titan have for years kept their 16YO until the last minute before sending them back to MAAA. MA Dorion, Patrice Bergeron etc. were all kept until the end of the long weekend. What better way to work with the kids and get them motivated but to keep them as long as they can before releasing them.
