normally this would just be "whatever" news, but the new ownership group that just purchased the Lightning is lead by Doug MacLean.
When MacLean got fired from Columbus we lost one of our best NHL contacts. With MacLean now back in the league, the Lightning could be another one of those teams that Cats fans may have to follow a little more closely at draft time. MacLean has always been good to the Cats, mainly because of his friendship will Bill Schurman. With Schurman out of the picture now, it will be interesting to see if the relationship between the Cats and Doug MacLean will remain as strong as it was.
