What moderating? On this board, I am an "outsider" just like you... not a moderator. All I did was simply ask if that thread would be better suited on the main board. Shoot me now, I asked a question.  After a couple comments from others, I tossed out my opinion. Whats wrong with that? No harm done... Moderating skills........?? What moderating? Im posting here as a member of the board....just as you are. Learn the system my friend. methinks you need a separate account from your admin one. It would lead to less confusion. No thanks.........unlike some mods im willing to show my status. Not to hard to understand the system............. |

You know, if most of you guys had posted on the subject, instead of some gibberish about where the thread should be, and personal comments about the guy who started it, we would have probably had a good discussion going here............how about that Picard-Hooper guy eh?........that would be amazing alongside Perreault.

The real problem here in this thread is Score allowed his dislike for chsb to cloud his judgement and decided to come down on him for no reason. Nice moderating skills ... What moderating? You can pretend you are an outsider ... but when you are the guy that created the whole conglomeration of boards and carry the title of Administrator under your name ... any sort of comment that seems intent on correcting a perceived problem will come off as moderating. So if you are not a moderator but carry a lofty title ... you are confusing everybody. If you can't see that then you need to go back to school. How the hell would I ever "learn the system" ? I'm not privy to the inner workings of messageboards and the ass backward way they are run. Its only the inner circle that gets to learn anything. |

Steve you make it sound like some kind of cult that you weren't invited to join in. To me it is a pretty simple. The real moderating/administrating is basically done by PM. All of us who carry a so-called "title" are simply regular posters who offered to help a little in running the board but when I post it is no different than anyone else. It is to share my opinion and if I or anyone else got out of line I would fully expect Score of TitanMod or whoever to handle the situation the same as they would any one else. As for the Q discussion board given that the season hasn't started there isn't a whole lot of Q related material to discuss more individual team's training camps and such. However, IMO things like a top player moving to the East, trade rumours, discussion on the standings and such make so much more sense to be discussed in one central location rather than on 7 individual boards separately. In theory more posts and more varied opinions should generate better discussions. Of course everyone is free to post these topics where they want but I agree with Score these types of topics are best suited for the Q Discussion board. And for the record after I posted the article there it quickly generated 2 pages of discussion on Picard Hooper (including comments from CHSB who argued against moving it there in the first place) while this thread has 3 pages of off-topic comments with almost nothing about Picard Hooper. |

I think both you guys are missing the valid point that Steve made - anyone else comes here and "suggests" to CHSB that the post would have been better suited on the main board and that would have slipped by as just a comment. However, when it comes from a moderator - it's a whole different story. A “police officer” has spoken suggesting that what CHSB did was wrong and that certainly wasn't the case.
Moderators should have 2 different sign-on names. One to use when they want to comment on the board and another when they want to actually "moderate".

Who the hell cares where the stuff is discussed actually?
The point of the boards was to have a centralized location and easy access to information about all teams in the East .... there is nothing wrong with this discussion occurring on 7 boards if people so desire

And yet, for every thread about a favorite game or player, there are 5-10 more primarily hockey posts... and none of these favorite polls have anything to do with fav colors or cute players... Old people.... If you read that board, it sounds like a bunch of "old people" reminiscing about long gone by times. I've sat beside you for enough games... you of ALL people are not the one to make that comment. |
