I noticed he's listed on the newly revised roster on the 'Cats website. Anybody know the latest? Yes he is, he is waiting for the cheque to arrive in US funds, the original cheque was in Canadian funds and his advisors asked it be replaced with a US cheque, its enroute and the signing will be offical after it clears.

According to the T&T this AM he has confirmed he will be reporting to camp. This could big for the Cats IMO. Great job by the staff and coaches convincing these kids. Hopefully he stays and wants to play here.

Great job by the staff and coaches convincing these kids. You aren't serious are you? The coaches and staff have nothing to do with it, it is Irvings cheque book that gets these kids to report, you take that away and see what kind of team you end up with.

You can have all the money in the world but if the program and the coaching isn't there what good does it do the kids? I am sure money played a part but the staff also needed to show them what the Cats organization has to offer. If they are getting "education Packages" so what.

Don't kid yourself, it is only about the money. Danny Flynn is a nobody in the hockey world still trying to ride Ted Nolan's coat tails. He is a good coach but the Q has lots of them with real NHL playing experience.

Don't kid yourself, it is only about the money. Danny Flynn is a nobody in the hockey world still trying to ride Ted Nolan's coat tails. He is a good coach but the Q has lots of them with real NHL playing experience. NHL playing experience doesn't automatically equate to being a good coach. But you're right, Danny Flynn is a hack coach. He's only helped coach a team to an OHL championship, an OHL team to a Memorial Cup championship, helped take a QMJHL team to a championship and a berth in a Memorial Cup final. Add to this the work he's done in Antigonish with the St. F.X hockey team. Oh, and experience at the NHL level. But really, we need to diminish all he's accomplished because he's in Moncton. I guess we won't hear how great of a coach he is until he puts a Moose jersey on. If he does have any success this year, I guess we'll just need to chalk it up to Irving throwing his money around. On the money subject, from what I've heard these are eduction packages that only get paid out IF the player doesn't go pro. If the Q wanted to fix this situation they could help themselves first by increasing the league education plan.

I said he was a good coach. The two non-CIS championships you refer to he was an asst to...... Nolan. He did an ok job at X, but at a dinner there recently the comment was made that he would be a great fit in Moncton, a good match to spend Irvings money, which he did well at X. But because Flynn is in Moncton all of the sudden he is the best coach in the league, thats been this boards stance. In terms of the money, you are wrong. It is disguised as education money, RKI got a taste of buying a team in the mem cup year and he wants another run, good for him, he was born into a family with money and has a passion for the sport. We need more owners like him. Also what does my comment have to do with the Moose.

Dimitruk has only confirmed to come to camp. Nothing more at this point in time. Yeah, having now read the story in the T & T, it isn't a sure thing that he'll be playing for the Cats this year. Hopefully the professionalism of the team and the enthusiasm of the fans will convince him that this is the place to be playing hockey if he wants to be a pro in the future.

I did say that he was reporting to camp. I forgot to put "camp only". But I still feel this is a a step in the right direction. I can't see him comming all this way just for extra ice time.
