Melanson was too lazy for Jr.A last year so...maybe he didn't feel like getting in shape, he was a longshot at best.

Ahh, didn't even see that part. ;D noticed a few of the veterans, and I believe Gaudet took to the ice after the rookie game today too for a little skate.

Gaudet was on the ice yesterday when I was there, along with Andrew MacDonald, Matthew Brenton, & another player whom I don't know who he was, had a tinted visor. And there were 4 goalies; Cooling, Dupuis, Bolduc, Babiak.

He was most likely just there for the ice time to get ready for pro camp. He possibly helped out Danny out with a few things. It's not the first time I hear of a 21 year old skating with the team.
