Eagles-Morehouse-Brenton <-- Cut Labelle-Sill-Brannon Are you suggesting that entire line be cut? That's ridiculous. We will talk about this again at Christmas.

Man you twist everything around to stir shit... Rebuilding is not measured by age. We have 18-19 yrs old that are just there to fill holes, while the team is clearly going to be build around Barberio, Brannon, Brown, MacAusland and Riopel. From our returning vets, our 19 and 20 yrs old, Marquardt and Mangan are the only two PPG player. I agree with you there! And I disagree with Dar who says that next year will be your maturity year....there is a gap there as obviously Brown,Barberio,MacAusland,Brannon will be more mature in two years time than next year. If you follow this reasoning, why then give more ice time to 18-19 YO FA than Brannon, Brown,MacAusland,Dimitruk? I thought that this was the year that the Wildcats would go in full mode rebuilding.... Obviously in order to be ready next year, some players will have to be moved. ;D ;D -- priceless -- ;D ;D

You will have a very weak crop of OAs next season with Eagles, Sill,Gomes,MacLellan and Lavigne.
Plus I don't find that your actual roster of 18YOs will make a contender team next season.... I might be off, but it is my impression....

Certainly if we do far better than most people's expectation this year than it will be because of the 18s. Preseason's looking very strong so far. Probably better than last year. Also I would look for the WC's to make changes to position even better for the next two years. Its not like they have failed at this rebuilding so far. If anything has been the problem its been too many quality players to choose from.

The crop of 1989's is very strong, plus guys like Brown MacAusland Dimitruk Stevens will have a year under their belt and will be ready to be regular contributors.

I might be off, but it is my impression.... It's funny how when you talk about the Titan players returning, they are always expected to have really improved from the previous year, and they will more than make up for the players you are losing. But you don't see that possibility here. Eagles could very well have a break through year this year, and could well be a very good OA next year with natural progression this year and next. Sill to early to say, but he does have a good track record and we still don't know what he could possibly offer as a 20 year old. Maclellan, I don't expect him as an OA next year, but we never know he could surprise us with a good second year with his good work ethic. As for the others... too early to tell, but time will tell, but I don't expect any of the others having a chance of an OA spot. There is also still the possibility to get 19 yr olds at Xmas by trading away Marquart and/or Mangan. In other words... still a bit too early to evaluate our OAs right now. But yes... with all the 18 year olds we have on the team now, I do expect to see us peak next year. Our 16 yr olds rookies this year will have a year under their belt and will be able to help out also (remember we can have progression to). Marchand was a good example of that with him being a big part of our Mem Cup team at 17. I'm not saying these are Marchand type of players, but they do have talent... and you never know they could end up being as good or better. We would still have a good roster leftover for the following season to have two good consecutive years. I see the wildcats as possible contenders for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons.

I don't know how much importance you guys would give this, but I noticed the other day that the President of the KiddyCats club this year will be Chris Morehouse.
With the Cat's Corner, the Kiddy Cats club and the fact that he is wearing the C tonight, you have to think he's on the team.

If you look closely you'll see that the "C" on his sweater is actually sewn on, not velcroed like the others.

It may sound stupid, but at the beginning of camp, I thought Morehouse was the safest of all the 20's. Yea, he can be a shit disturber and a real pain in the @#$, but he is a really nice guy off the ice and he's just someone who loves to be around the game. I think he will go far in hockey, not meaning playing either.. but broadcasting, or even coaching someday maybe.
