Very impressive performance by Lavigne tonight. That's the best I've seen from any of the goalies so far this camp. He didn't seem nervous at all. I think he could be a good solution for the short term fix the cats need in nets. Especially since he already has major junior experience as a back-up, so he probably understands how to handle the role and could support Riopel. I agree...4 goals on 38 shots is not bad at all. Does anyone know how many Veterans were playing last night on both teams? Still many cuts to make??? Saint John had at least 9 vets on the roster last night and Moncton had 10 that ring a bell from last year.

Our biggest weakness last night was on D ... they couldn't move the puck out of our end forcing our forwards to circle back. Goyens and Tolles were our only veterans on D and neither played well ... both are on the bubble. Wilson was our best D.

Moncton sat out Barberio, Gomes, Pianosi, Eastman, Bacca on D and Magnan, Marquart, McLellan, Moorehouse, Lessard. The Cats names may have been familiar but many of them didn't log much ice time or key ice time last year with a few exceptions. As you might expect with the absence of the players listed above, we had trouble in our own end and on the PP.

Saint John had at least 9 vets on the roster last night and Moncton had 10 that ring a bell from last year. Moncton only had 7-8 guys whom I'd call "vets' last night. D 2 Wilson, Cody Nope D 7 Dimitruk, Paul Nope RW 8 Lincourt, Maxime Yes RW 11 Brannon, Scott Yes RW 14 Watson, Marcus Not really, played what? 6 games or so C 15 Lepage, Jason Yes D 16 Tolles, Joseph Played 22 games, I'll let you pass him as a Vet C 17 Cameron, Randy Yes D 18 Boyle, Matt Played 2 games before getting injured, not a Vet D 19 Goyens, Nicholas Yes RW 20 Labelle, Marc-André Yes C 21 Stephens, Edward No C 22 Smith, Brad Not really, played a few games in the Q over the past 2 years but mostly played JR A LW 24 Brown, Matt No LW 26 Brenton, Matthew Yes D 28 Little, Bobby No RW 44 Bezak, Adam No C 71 Sill, Zach No 30 Bolduc, Tyler No 35 Lavigne, Charles NO So that's 8, not 10.
