Lots of rumours about Picard - Hooper wanting to play in the east to get used to speaking English. Wonder if something like this would get it done to land him with that Cats ? Morehouse or Lincourt along with Eagles, Maclellan, and maybe one or two of Little, Boyle, or Lepage?

It would take at least two roster players, and probably a high pick to land him. I doubt we'd want to pay that kind of price. And MacLellan/Lepage/Boyle aren't the calibre of roster players Baie-Comeau would want.
He would be fun to watch, though. It's the kind of move we do a year from now.

I think he will bring a good return but I think it has diminished now that he has requested a trade. Most of the time when a player asks for a trade it puts the selling team at a little bit of a disadvantage. Especially if he is comming here either way. (thought I read that somewhere) Better to get something for him then nothing. But he would be fun to watch but I don't think it would make much sense to have him here this season as we are supposed to be building for the next two years.

I don't see why we would even ATTEMPT to get him? We have a surplus of forwards and a surplus of 20's. He's both. It's like if you're selling green apples then you don't go out buying red ones.

We don't really have an ideal candidate to be the number one center. Eagles and Cameron have both played center but they both play more like wingers and neither are strong in the face-off circle. Labelle is a natural center but isn't ready to be the first line center. Mangan is a decent candidate but he's not guaranteed to be on the team and Picard-Hooper would be an upgrade on him anyways. I wouldn't be opposed to acquiring if the price was right because we'd only have him for one year and I hate to sacrifice the long term for the short term. Eagles could be a great 20 next season and I think he should stay. If Lepage is the best player in the package though, they'll ask for a high pick like a maybe a second or third. 20 yr olds don't cost as much at the beginning of the season, especially ones that make it public that they want to be traded and even specify which division, so it may not be a bad idea to give it a shot.

Mangan should be a lock for a 20 spot and 1st line center. He did the job last year so no reason to think he can't do it again. If Lepage is the best player in your packlage BC would want 2 1st round picks along with it.

i'd like to see the Cats get Picard-Hooper, but not if it's gonna be costly. i wouldn't go giving up draft picks for him, but without doing so, good luck getting him. but i think we have enough talent as far as 20 year olds goes without him. keep Mangan, Marquardt and either Morehouse or Lincourt. preferably Morehouse.

I don't think this even the littlest possibility. You won't see him in a Cats jersey. For starters, we are so deep up front. He's a 20 year old & we have enough 20's already & you don't ditch one for another. I wouldn't wanna do the trade because I think they would be looking to get something like a Barberio. I don't think you'll ever see this trade happen .. but stranger things have happened .. but really, no chance I think.

Why would Moncton trade for a very high end 20 year old in a year that they won't be a contender........I think this year you should be thinking of selling 20's for a run next year instead of bring more in.
