I'm disappointed with the Lamoureux situation as well.
Too bad Brad Smith wasn't a fighter, with his size that could have been his ticket to the Q.

Call Billy Riley and get the boy some dance lessons! Maybe his first assignment can be to say hi to the Bathurst player who broke Brown's nose. Anyone remember who the player was? I wouldn't be too worried if I was that Bathurst player after watching Herr's performance against Alexandre Leduc. Very unimpressive. Even moreso considering Leduc is definitely not a fighter and still had his gloves on and stick in his hands by the time Herr had his gloves off and a hold of him. That's why he needs the lessons

Herr will do a fine job for you guys. He is a gamer which is really all you need. He owned Leduc the other night, which he should. The only reason it wasn't a more impressive beatdown was because Leduc hung on for dear life. This being said, I think the Cats would benefit from having some help for Herr. Morehouse either needs to fight more, or they should get somebody to ride shotgun for Herr. Guys like Lessard Brannon Sill Morehouse can drop the goves from time to time, I think they just need a legit #1 guy...which IMHO was Lamoureux. I didn't see Lamoureux play or any training camp action for the matter of fact, but why is everyone so damn high on Lamoureux? Like someone else brought it up yesterday, he fought once in the last two years (two camps), to me, this situation reminds me of Simon Prosper. A few had him begged as the future enforcer, for whatever reason, then he was traded in the Northern boonies (Rouyn I thing) during his 2nd camp. It's not because he's big and can skate that he'll become the next Pelham; although that's another can of worms altogther! Don't get me wrong, from what I've been reading on here, I would have like to see him stick over Herr, but there just didn't seem to be any room for him. In the end, the two probably aren't the right solution, but at least the Cats got something in return for Lamoureux, something they couldn't get from Herr.

Lamoureux is big, strong and tough...for the rest he needs repititions, obviously guys don't become scrappers playing MAAA so it's a learning process once they reach the Q. I find he reminds me of Lariviere whom the team invested time in and reaped the rewards.

I find he reminds me of Lariviere whom the team invested time in and reaped the rewards. I understand the physical aspect of it, but what I didn't see/read was his willingness to drop the mitts. Not everyone feels like getting their face pounded in on a regular basis. I do recall a Hodge article about Lamoureux earlier in camp (or this summer), he said that he saw his role bigger than the "enforcer" role, but that he'd still be willing to drop them if necessary. Saying it to Hodge is one thing, following through on the ice is another. That's where I'm struggling with it.

Lamoureux had some hits here the other night against the Seadogs, but it appeared to me that every time he ran at Alex Grant, Grant wanted a piece of him and Remy did not want any part of that. Not to mention that when Grant ran him over and knocked his helmet off, Remy did nothing. That doesnt show me that a guy wants to fight because he had opportunties to take on Grant who is one of the tougher hombres around, and he didn't want anything to do with him. Guys who want the enforcer job usually go out and pick fights and he didn't do anything against a pretty soft Seadogs lineup. Bottom line, move on from Remy Lamoureux becauseI don't think he wants to be a tough guy.

Gallant and Pisano were not dressed.

We should have kept Brad Smith then as they fought last year early in the season to a spirited draw. That would place Smith up in that "tougher hombre" category too ... and he can take a regular shift.

Who cares if he did beat LeDuc? that's not really a good way to gage your fighting ability by fighting a guy that's never had a Q fight before.

well I just hope that they do have someone in mind to step into that roll.. Hey a pick up that can fight and have limited skills... is fine with me... does not have to be dressed every game... but as the season goes on and the issues arise.. teams should know either that game or the next..they will have to answer..
