The more I watch Baca the more I like this guy, he is a good guy to have on D , has a mean streak and can handle the puck some too.

Baca looked like the best player on the ice for the Wildcats IMO for that exhibition game in Saint John. He should be a good one if he consistently plays at that level. I'll definitely be watching him everytime you guys play us.

My only wish is that everyone stop calling him "Chew" or "Chewy". Star Wars and hockey should NOT mix.
Also, he was good tonight... but not great. Has a great wrist shot but can't pull the trigger quickly... reminds me of Andrew MacDonald in that regard. If a pass comes to him that's just the SLIGHTEST bit away from where it has to be for him, forget about it... and based on those two pre-season games, that will be happening a bit, at least early in the season.

Thanks for clearing the Star Wars thing up, I had no idea where the CHEW came from and didn't feel like asking. Also I think after 2-3 months in the league he'll be known league wide as a good d-man.(Eastern Division anyways) He should get lots of ice time on all three of PK,ES and PP which should be great for his development, I wish he was a year younger though.

Having at least one 18YO Euro is JUST what the team needed this year, imo... and it would've been arguably more useful last year. In a season where there will be alot of 16's and 17's developing, grabbing a couple of more "polished" Euros not only adds more skill to the lineup, it allows a bit more time to focus on the more raw rookies on the roster.

I'm just saying having an 18YO Euro who will theoretically adapt quicker to the league than a 17YO is going to be a bonus this year.
