Is Riopel Struggling.. Did the injury hurt him being as ready for the season... I have not seen the games, just going by the shots in last nights game. 4 goals on 18 shots. Is this the case or is the team not playing very well in front of him???

The majority of teams in the Q should have some doubt about how their goaltending situation will work out this season. We're no different in that department. However I'm not going to go into a big panic because he didn't play well in a meaningless pre-season game. Let's also not forget that he was late getting into the action during training camp because of an injury. I don't believe he played in any of the intersquad games and his first real game action was on Aug.28th vs. Bathurst. May take a little bit longer to round into form.

There is of course some doubt after last year's playoff performance but he wasn't the first goalie in Q history to play poorly in making his playoff debut. We've often compared him to Crawford in terms of style and Crawford was far from spectacular in his playoff debut in '03 vs. Quebec and he turned out fine. We'll just have to hope for the same with Riopel.

i just have to say Rio is back this year and back with a vangance by not getting drafted , he trained all summer with a personel trainer , and then help with goalies camp them practice and practice all summer , saying that how he can do how he can be after 2 games , wen the players don t even know how the other players beside him play , and we don t even have a system in place yet , we are going to be a top 4 team this year but we will need alot of practice and get to know all the new players that we have on the team .

Has for last year playoff yes i would have too say not only Rio did not do much for the playoff the team was out of juice , we played the hole season like it was playofff time and wen it came to playofff everybody was just done , i know you should count on the guy in net for saving a few game , but the team has to be there too .
