I think the 4-Ice seats over 2,000 because the crowd at the Bathurst game the other night was about 1,600 and there were still at least 20% empty seats. Still, not where you want to host a playoff game. There were 20% empty seats, but probably 200 people standing at least. As far as tracking how many people are attending the game.... ticket sales.

I wouldn't call it "screwing the main tenant"... you'd probably be surprised how much revenue Irving reaps in from trade shows in which they take part (which is a few)... and that revenue comes in a steady stream throughout the year... not in one big wave, like revenue from one game on one night. That being said, a new arena WOULD be great.... but there has already been so much done to the Coiseum in recent years, perhaps it's not economically feasible for the city to initiate such a venture. A new rink in a few years would be nice... let's not wait until the roof collapses on the old one before building new again.

The Wildcats OWN the rink. Well they should.. the Cats even get all the canteen money, even for events that aren't Wildcats games. I always thought that wasn't fair.
I would love to see a new rink. A rink downtown though.. I don't know where they would build it. But like the thought of it.

Relax, you have Fabien Joseph and when he is involved his team nevers make the play-offs, so you won't need the ice.

I believe it collapsed on Christmas day that year. It was located across the street from where the Beaver Curling Club is now located, north od St. George Street.

It was located where the Air Force Base Gym is now...That was the location..The other one is located on Donald Avenue. You can see the frame still standing.. It would be a great place for an outoor rink...

thats why I said pray for really really cold april and we can put on an outdoor rink to play at... then we can have 12000 fans... with the extra people in town for the curling... maybe tsn will do a special story about the outdoor game.. and the weird unseasonable cold temps...
