Fog Devils win 4-1...Moncton has no defense. So Devils should score easily!

looked on the Detroit site it shows Cameron playing in two games but nothing about Brannon, also looked at the Columbus site and nothing there about Marquart ? Well I wasn't able to find anything about Brannon or Cameron, but according to something I read on a messageboard, Marquardt was still in camp with Columbus as of yesterday afternoon. But out of all the guys in camps, he would be the last to come back, I dare say. Tough to say, Detroit is known for keeping their prospects in camp longer then the other teams to give them a feel of the NHL life. Hence Brannon and Cameron still being there.

I thought it was a decent game. Sloppy game at times. But I think we didn't play too bad. Definitely a lot to look forward to. Eagles played a great game. I thought the line of Morehouse-Sill-McLellan played great and was the best line out there. I thought Riopel didn't have his best game.. was a bit shaky at the beginning, but he calmed down throughout the game. I don't think our defense played too bad.

I thought Pianosi and Barberio did not play as well as expected but I was impressed with Eastman. Lincourt was almost invisible. Eagles and Morehouse had an excellent game and were flying all night. Riopel was shaky in the first allowing 2 goals on 6 shots I think it was but settled down during the second and third. The Fog Devils goalie sure likes to handle the puck. If their forwards learn to anticipate him and start to transition up ice more quickly when he has the puck they should be fun to watch this year.

The Cats started pretty flat but they got their legs in the 2nd and had the upper hand from there. They have to play fast against St.Johns, use their speed and quickness. I was surprised they sat both Gomes and Baca last night(I assume Baca was hurt), Boyle and Herr together stuggled in their own end at times.
Lincourt looks like dead man walking, maybe he knows he's only here until marquardt is cut and can't get into it...

I was expecting Lincort to bust out this year.Knowing he was on the bubble. He had a great camp..He gained some speed..but at some parts of the game I forgot he was even on the ice...

I thought Mangan improved his puck handling skills greatly, it was fun to watch him with some of those moves. Barbario dind't play his best but I still think he is great for his age, he has a much faster shot this year. Same with Pianosi, he seems to really want to step up his offensive role. I like the look of Bezak, I think he'll work out just fine. Brenton still doesn't do anything for me, he's fast, but thats about it. Maybe a decent PK but thats streatching it.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - Lincourt has no hockey sense ... he must be a very frustrating player to be on a line with, he is all over the ice (not in a good way - he goes from playing left wing to right wing to centre in the span of a few seconds) and he frequently panics with the puck and makes passes straight into no man's land ...

I agree with you...Lincourt makes 2 or 3 nice moves each game, but unless he scores, he's invisible. In the unlikely event that Marquardt doesn't return, I'm not sure I'd keep Lincourt in the lineup as the token 3rd 20 yo...not if he's outworked by some of the younger forwards. He showed some better play late last year, but an overager needs to much more consistent. I can't wait for Marquardt to return. And if he doesn't, if not sure Lincourt is a good use of a roster spot at his age.

Very interesting note ... Mangan won 25 of 29 faceoffs ... but why was Sill out to take the faceoff with 5 sec left in the game and the faceoff in our end ?

I'll admit that I was pretty big on Lincourt during training camp because he seemed pretty dominant but I guess the thing to consider is that selfish players will usually look good in training camp cause chemistry hasn't set in the team yet so the hockey becomes very individual. Now with Mangan locked in, I also think i'd get rid of Lincourt even if Marquardt doesn't come back and get a 20yr old D man. I only saw the third period last night but it shows that the D is inexperienced and even slow. Riopel needs some help or he'll get worn out.
