Is Les doing the radio broadcast for you guys again this year?
Les is originally from my hometown of Grand Bank, NL (population of about 3500). Our town held a Come Home Year this year and I noticed a man walking around with a Wildcats jacket on a few times, and then when I went to cover a book launch for the local newspaper, there was this same man wearing his Moncton jacket signing books for people. We had a nice little chat about the league, and the Fog Devils in particular, but he wasn't sure he would be back this season or not...so I was wondering if I could hear him tonight online.
One thing is for sure though, he has a passion for your team.

Yes he is going to be doing some broadcasts this year. And about that book, yes, Les wrote a book named "Tales of the Landwash - Short Stories of Newfoundland". I found the book to be really interesting. You guys can check it out this site. www.lesstoodley.ca/

Yeah I heard him on the Telus feed. Too bad he kept calling us the Sea Dogs... I find that odd as Les was naming off fog devil draft picks etc... when i was chatting to him this summer....he obviously knows his shit.
I haven't read the book yet, but the stories and the cover are of Grand Bank.

And he is a true gentleman ... one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet ... I missed him last year when the Wildcats went the Rogers route .... good to have him back. We use to complain about him a few years back ... getting names wrong ... getting too excited about opposing teams goals ... etc ... but he grows on you and is a good ambassador for the Wildcats. To others that complain about him ... its a free service ... he is not a young man anymore ... he is allowed to make a few mistakes ... especially on the 1st home game of the season. Plus ... all of us non-SJ fans mix up the names of the FD's and the SD's from time to time ... the names are a little too similar. I probably called the Foggies the Seadogs at one point in the game ... or maybe I said "These Fogdevils will be behind the Seadogs this year" ... can't recall.

I must agree, I liked Les' announcing much better than some of the other people in there doing it... as for getting the names wrong, so what? I got the teams mixed up yesterday in the other thread... it happens... and like steveul said... it's a free service... sure they could get professional announcers and charge us to listen/watch the webcasts but would you pay for it?

He does a good job, the only complaint I have is the sound. He's very hard to understand.
