Well, just back from the game.....here goes what I saw.....
Not a huge Moorehouse fan but he played GREAT tonight....
Riopel very shakey on the first goal, but stood tall the rest of the game....
Sill and Brannon played great..hitting everything that moved.
Magnan and Eagles very steady.
Marquart looked sluggish.
Eastmann looks really good.
Two terrible penalties by Lessard.
I sat right in front of brannon fight...cheap shot against Moorehouse...Brannon jumped the guy right away...sends a message to Halifax..no BS like that will be taken
Brannon absolutaly destroyed him in the fight....at least 5 good clean uppercuts.
Herr is so slow it is not funny. Sit him down and play Bacca. With brannon and boylein the lineup we do not need Herr.
Good luck later today boys.
Halifax new goalie did not play well.

The announcer said O'Connor hit Morehouse dirty and Brannon pumped him with 8-10 shots. He hit him hard, but it wasn't called a penalty. And you never can really tell how bad Morehouse really gets hit because he tends to embellish the impact on occasion. Brannon got in a few shots, I don't think it was 8-10 though. I guess we'll have to watch it again once Telus archives it. Its archived now.... and the hit/fight is at 2:13:30ish In reality, if a guy gets hit with 1 or 2 solid shots to the face, they will likely collapse, or at least get up slowly hurt, or maybe even show some blood or damage. So I always wonder how people can recap saying 8-10 shots, and the other guy here saying he landed 5 solid clean uppercuts... The punches looked nice, but were nowhere near landing as O'Connor was protected... but I bet that shoulder pad has some bruises...

The O’Connor hit was borderline, but Brannon show how brave he was by jumping on O’Connor from behind and giving a couple of uppercuts with out facing him or inviting him to dance.

One thing I'm really liking about this team is that they have a lot of heart and they are sticking up for their teammates. I am glad to see guys do what Brannon did, he should have gotten the instigator though, I agree. You can't say we're getting pushed around, so far anyways.

Just as was said
1. Morehouse was totally checked from behind.
2. Brannon never threw any punches from behind. But he might have checked him from behind.

Just as was said 1. Morehouse was totally checked from behind. Except that you can see his numbers the whole time... he wasnt facing the boards, the hit just sent him in that way. It was a dangerous hit and often a penalty, but it wasnt "totally" from behind.

It was a dangerous hit and often a penalty, but it wasnt "totally" from behind. It doesn't matter ... its a dirty hit worthy of a beating ... and the Ref can call it boarding if he wants. Bottom line for me is the Refs could have called an instigator but could also have called boarding ... so its a wash. Now last night Bodnarchuk got the instigator because the way I saw it he threw the hit and knew he was going to have to face the music ... he turned around and saw Maclelland coming and dropped his gloves first ... the replay will tell the truth sooner or later. Thats obviously the way the Refs saw it too .. and they conferred on the call.

I agree with all that... my point was just that some people said Morehouse looked to be sort of hit from the side and questioned if he embellished (ala Morency) the crash into the boards, while others (Moncton fans in attendance) said they saw it clearly as a hit from behind and that this "side" hit thing was ridiculous (more or less)... Im just saying on the video you can see Morehouse's numbers as he is sort of sideways to the boards... its a dangerous hit, worthy of a penalty, but wasnt a clear hit from behind as some have said.
