Where is Baca? Does anyone know why he is not playing? Anything new on Macausland?

Not really any new developments with MacAusland. He's still hurt and undergoing tests and seeing a specialist.. according to the T&T a few days ago. As for Baca, I heard on one of the webcasts that Flynn was giving him some time to "adjust". I would like to see Baca get in the lineup.

They mentioned on 91.9 after the game that with numerous upcoming games in a short time frame, we should see some different combinations of defensemen dress in order to keep everyone fresh, and I think they are probably right.
Too bad we don't have Dimitruk to toss into the lineup....

Baca is a healthy scratch...some people are saying he is injured....he is not.
IMO......with the toughness that Murdoch and Brannon have showed, we do not need Herr to dress.
Baca needs to get in the lineup to see what he can do. He had three bad penalties against Bathurst in the first game granted, but he showed a big shot in the preseason and IMO we need his size to offset our smaller defense except for Barberio.

I don't understand the "adjustment" excuse at all. He played in enough exhibition games and was already one of the best defenceman on the team. You're not going to adjust anymore by sitting in the stands. Bezak has played every game so far so it shouldn't be any different for Baca.

Flynn said something about Baca needed time to adjust ... perhaps there are on and off-ice considerations at play ... maybe he is struggling to fit into a NA lifestyle for the first time.

The only difference culturally between Bezak and Baca is that Bezak speaks English very well and understands the English language very well where Baca is still developing his English and his understanding of it.....this is the only thing I can think of as to why he is sitting...it might be a communication problem with the coaches and other players.........Baca is working hard on his english and is attending English as a second language classes on a daily basis.... He loves Moncton and I hope they give him more of a chance....IMO he should be playing over Herr.

....IMO he should be playing over Herr. I agree. I'm not a huge fan of Herr. And with seeing ( so far ) that as a team we're standing up for each other.. I don't see the need for Herr, to be quite honest. I would much rather see Baca in and Herr out.

Maybe we should wait until we see Brannon in a fight where his opponent is : A) Actually a player who's fought more than once in his career. B)Actually willing to fight him. Brannon's fought twice now....both times he's fought p****es and both times he landed 90% of his punches while the other guy is down, how do you come to the conclusion that he's ready to handle to "tough guy"role As for Maclellan you probably won't see him fight again this year so you can scrath that idea too

Why would you say that about Maclellan......he will be playing on the 3rd or 4th line and has shown improved agressiveness over last year on his hitting and forechecking

Why would you say that about Maclellan......he will be playing on the 3rd or 4th line and has shown improved agressiveness over last year on his hitting and forechecking Because he only fought twice all last year and if my memory serves me right he got tuned pretty good by Gab O'Connor who was what 15 at the time. Also at 5'9 165 you don't want to see him drop em too often

I didn't realize he was that size and weight...
I am not saying he was going to be a goon or anything
I just feel he plays bigger than that and it looked to me with his punching speed that when called upon he could handle himself...
I think you will also find as the year goes along that Sill is one tough SOB...he is playing awesome

Sill has been a great addition to this team so far. I really like Brannon,Sill and Moorehouse as a 3rd line. They have skill and can hit. All three had some really nice hits last night. None nearly as nice as Sills open ice one in the 3rd though.

Back to discussing Baca in the lineup. It is a huge adjust for him and not speaking English doesn't help. He either needs to be played or moved.Looking at other teams like P.E.I. Hali they have Euro's that are impact players not just guys trying to get in the lineup.Bezak looks fine. But if management don't feel he's capable then make a deal ala Marty like lastyear.Get a game breaker for next year and move up in the draft.

I think Baca is going to get in there shortly but I also think that the lineup they have right now is winning. That might play a little factor into it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you look at it Herr and Boyle are not better then Gomes and Baca.
