I know a lot of you are at the game right now but could one of you fine Titan fans come on the Cats board and give a little info on what you thought on some of our players? Thanks in advance.

I know this was our first game and everything and 90% of these guys who played tonight will be cut, but these are the few I'd keep around for another look from both teams......I haven't seen any of the practices as I just got back in town last night, so this game is all I have to go on......
Bathurst:
14 Mathieu Jean-Boulianne 15 Lucas Labelle 16 Vincent Couture 44 Daniel Basque 5 Remi Blanchard 35 Nicholas Champion...reminds me of a young Russo.....small and very fast.
Moncton:
30 Tyler Bolduc......sorry guys but Riopel looked really bad tonight with 2 goals on 3 shots. 10 Pierre-Marc Lessard 14 Bobby Little 15 Jason Lepage 18 Matt Boyle 19 Brad Smith 20 Marc-Andre Labelle 22 Murdock MacLellan 26 Matt Brenton 28 Matt Brown
All others from both sides will most likely be cut by tomorrow morning.
The difference between the teams tonight was the Moncton had a few systems in place while Bathurst was just running around with most playing individual hockey.......looked like guys who have been in a few practices and games against guys haven't......lol............I have about 2 guys from Bathurst's lineup that might make the team......

Another difference was that Moncton had 5 players on their roster who played for a total of 330 games last season(Lessard,Lepage,Brenton,Maclellan,Labelle) compared to the 2 Titan players who played a total of 15 games combined (Legros and Labelle), plus they had Riopel as the backup goaltender.... The Titan had 18 players with ZERO Q experence and no system in place..... The word around is that as much as 12-15 players could be cut tomorrow morning.

30 Tyler Bolduc......sorry guys but Riopel looked really bad tonight with 2 goals on 3 shots. Riopel didn't play tonight and Bolduc was nothing spectacular. He let in one real softie. Not as bad as Szostak's however.

Yes, he dressed, but he didn't play. Here's the gamesheet on the Q website www.lhjmq.qc.ca/lang_en/index.php?page=342374&id_partie=14521

Not as bad as Szostak's however. could be....the guy beside me said we scored our 1st 2 on Riopel, just after the goalie change.....Bolduc was in net when he said it, so I assumed it to be so......I was sure both teams changed goalies at the same time, but maybe Bolduc just went to the bench and back......I was watching Bathurst more than Moncton, as I knew you had half your starting lineup playing already.... ..... and Szostak, if you read my post, is in my "cuts" section......so the trash talking won't work here.....he sucked.....

I'm just being fair. But yeah...it might be a bit harsh on Szostak to judge him on one performance. Nonetheless...still no excuse for him letting the one really bad one in that he did. I know a couple of the other ones he didn't have a chance on that were off of turnovers and bad defense. Champion was by far the best goalie on the ice tonight though, but I think everyone agrees with that.

Champion was amazing......he made 8 saves in that shift before that 2nd goal went in on him and then it was screened by 3 guys.......this was the 1st I've seen of anything yet, but he looks solid......hard to judge from one game though.

Yeah, I was watching him in camp yesterday (Saturday) and I was saying I couldn't wait to see him in game action because he looked great. Obviously it was just simple passing and shooting drills, but his positioning was good and he was stopping almost everything. I hope tonight wasn't just a one time thing. IMO I still think he's a longshot to make it, but he'll probably be signed as an affiliate. Sly said he wanted to keep two other ones besides Tardif and Legault. But if he can turn in consistent performances like that down the road, he'd be a huge steal. You have to remember, we got him in the 12th round. Does anyone know why he would've dropped that low? There must be quite a few knocks on him. All this talk is still pretty premature obviously, but at least we're talking, right?

Also keep in mind that he is not playing against a full major Jr lineup. Moncton didn't have any of its offensive players in the lineup ... and with the exception of Lessard and Labelle ... all other returning players that played are not guaranteed a spot on this years team. But it sounds like he stood on his head for half the game ... good stuff.
