It would hurt the chances of both the Q teams and the Eastern teams to compete with the rest of the leagues.

Even though it's not "inclusive" I like the QMJHL name. Even if you were to change the "M" to Maritime that would still not accurately represent the teams in the league as there would be two teams outside of Quebec/Maritimes with St. John's & Lewiston. As for the original topic, I think CB might have set some sort of record last year with the least amount of Quebec born players- a mere FOUR on the roster with Laberge, Quesnel, Gauthier, and Breton. And it should be noted that in that game 7 against Val'dor, both Breton & Quesnel were scratched, meaning there were only 2 in the lineup, and both them were forwards NOT on the top 2 lines. As a final add-on about the geography of the 06-07 Eagles, the team started the year with SEVEN players from Ontario, but MacDonald/Ceccaense/Fazzalarri were all sent home at Christmas time. This year's Eagles, as well as last year's, have the distinction of having a player from every province east of Saskatchewan. And that's enough useless info for one post.

it's already been said, there's no need to change the name, but since we're on the subject: Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League if they were to change it, they could just switch the Major to Maritime, and could still keep the branding and recognize both territories. that'd be more than sufficient IMO. and don't start with the "but... but... newfoundland... st. john's ;D ". that's how moot all this actually is. bottom line, they aren't going to please everyone, and it won't be called "The Quebec & Canadian Maritime Provinces Including Newfoundland & North Eastern States Which We Own Territorial Rights To Hockey League" Aren't you forgetting someone? What about Labrador?? Isn't there any room in your heart for the Labradorians? They're good people.....let them in. ;D

Last I checked, it was still part of Newfoundland.
