That was the best 60 minutes the cats have played in months. It was a pleasure to see the D stand up at the offensive line and keep the puck in the zone instead of backing out right away. I liked the way one forward went to the net on each rush with the other two doing the puck pursuit and cycle down low as well. The goals started coming once they started having someone out front to pass the puck to.
I did notice that during the first and second period that Barberio was hardly ever off of the ice. However once they had a solid lead the other defencemen started getting a lot more ice time which was also good to see. With all the extra ice time and responsiblity he is getting this year Barberio should be one hell of a player next year. I was not sure we got value when we traded for Burdon in the first place but we sure got it when we traded him away for Brannon and Barberio.
