Ah, I found another photo were the faces do match. they just mixed it up. I'll re-type the list later. Don't leave us in suspense like this! Some of us want to sleep tonight, you know!! I think Roddie MacKenzie is the very beady eyed guy in the back row.

I had pretty much the same question marks when I checked it out this afternoon. That picture was taken after Beauregard was traded (sold).

Yup,the only season the Alpines lasted. I kinda liked their jerseys though. I agree the jerseys were actually pretty slick. I think Sec.21 critic should spearhead a campaign to have those jerseys brought back as vintage jerseys!

Where was that picture taken?? Sure doesn't look like the Coliseum we have now! Of note, although I lived in Fredericton at the time and wasn't even in high school, I got to see an Alpines game, even if it was at the Metro Center. The team got a shelling something like 9-1, but I got up and cheered that one lone goal anyways. Guess I was a fan without even knowing it! *****EDIT***** Actually, upon further observations, the arena looks like the Coliseum. Just.... really old. Did they ever do a nice job at getting that facility current! Sounds a lot like my first ever live QMJHL hockey game. I believe I was playing hockey the day of the home opener but me and my dad made it out to the 2nd home game of the season...an 11-3 loss to the Rimouski Oceanic. It was a memorable first ever Q game to say the least ;D I also remember the first ever home game vs. Halifax when attendance was so poor that the Moosehead fan bus had tickets directly behind the Alpines bench. I seem to recall some sort of incident taking place in which one of the Halifax fans was escorted by the police out of the building. Anyone remember what exactly happened there? Does anyone else remember how warm-up's were conducted that season? It was pretty amazing

I remember my hocket team going to an Alpines game after our practice (think it was a Sunday afternoon). The game was at the JLL. Granby was in town, and big George Laraque was an absolute beast. Most players seemed scared shitless of him. Little difference between that era, and the current era of Brett Gallant and Kelan Herr.

It was pretty amazing One team warmed up, then the other team... presumably because of any number of brawls in warmup that season, since everyone had at least one or two or five goons that season.

I think Sec.21 critic should spearhead a campaign to have those jerseys brought back as vintage jerseys! I am so in! I'll help! I think this is something that not only could be something newsworthy about the Wildcats that people would read about, but it would make some people realize how lucky we are to have this team even if they went 2-8 in october. Come on vintage jersey for 2008-2009!

They played one or two games at the JLL because there was a City Employee "inside workers" strike that year. My fondest memory of that year (or the year after) was Weston Fader standing up to Peter Worrell (Hull) for a dirty hit against one of his teammates ... Fader didn't win the fight but he didn't hesitate when he felt he had to defend his own guy. I gave him a standing ovation and so did many others. Worrell was also a beast.

That was at the coliseum actually....I remember Worrell didn't really seem too interested but ended up landing a big punch on Fader...was that the same game Worrell fought Quirk?

Yes ... the Coliseum ... I wasn't suggesting it was at the JLL.
