Good find. As perhaps the biggest advocate for preserving the memory of the Alps, I am very thankful for this. Wonder if that photographer ever got paid?

Where was that picture taken?? Sure doesn't look like the Coliseum we have now!
Of note, although I lived in Fredericton at the time and wasn't even in high school, I got to see an Alpines game, even if it was at the Metro Center. The team got a shelling something like 9-1, but I got up and cheered that one lone goal anyways. Guess I was a fan without even knowing it!
*****EDIT***** Actually, upon further observations, the arena looks like the Coliseum. Just.... really old. Did they ever do a nice job at getting that facility current!

Wonder if that photographer ever got paid? Probably not. I still have the program I "volunteered" to work on that year.

If you look up at the top right hand side of the photo, you'll see the stellar section signs that were removed after that season. Also, the orange seats, which were replaced by the blue ones before the 97-98 season. If you look REALLY hard, towards the top of the picture, you'll see where a plethora of signage currently exsists, there is a lone ad for a company called "Ad Space for Lease".

And ... if I'm not mistaken ... 2nd row, first player on the right ... I believe that is the great Frank Appel ... thats Guy Lafleur hair for you young folk.
Is that Kelan Herr wearing an "A" in the front row ?

Is that Kelan Herr wearing an "A" in the front row ? That IS the great Frank Appel... hard to imagine just five years later he'd be the international star that he remains today. We were robbed of him on this side of the pond far too early. As for the guy who looks like Herr... I'm kind of curious as to who that really is... I can't remember... kind of looks like Rejean Dufour.

Edit: I think the guy that looks like Herr is Roddie Mackensie. Also note the sweet haircut on Jeff LeBlanc .
