I think we'll see Riopel back in goal. even though Riopel is our #1. That doesn't seem to be the way Flynn is thinking lately if he puts Lavigne 3 games in a row..

I am going to say 4-3 Moncton with Lavigne in nets and LeaskIsMyHero trying to run across the ice in the buff (like a few years back) getting chased by security guards like a few years back. ;D 4-3 Moncton? Maybe. The rest? No way in hell. Not crazy enough to do that. Too lazy to do that. If I tried and got over the glass I'd end up like that guy at the Calgary Flames game that slipped and smacked his head on the ice and got knocked out cold. No thank you. ;D

I think we'll see Riopel back in goal. According to L'Acadie Nouvelle, this morning, Flynn is staying with the hot hand -- Lavigne. I heard a couple of weeks ago from a less than credible source that Flynn is not a big fan of Riopel's and that he could be on the move at Xmas ... I didn't put much stock in it, and still don't, however maybe there is a grain of truth to Flynn not being Riopel's biggest fan if he is willing to sit him three in a row at the slightest sign of Lavigne getting hot.

Flynn often comments that his goaltender kept the game close ... and its usually Riopel. He never complains about his goaltending ... just the work ethic from the skaters. I doubt there is anything to that rumour. Riopel could very well be here at 20 since he was passed over in the draft.

Flynn should be a huge fan or Riopel, without Rio Flynn might not have a job right now the way they played the first 1/4 of the season.

What a fabulous third period. The Wildcats totally sat back and let the SeaDogs come back into the game. I went from wondering if Lavigne would get the shutout to wondering if we would even get a point in this game. Did anyone else think that Lavigne looked a little hurt? He made a save in the first and I thought maybe he was a little hurt. But he continued the whole game.

Lavigne looked more po'd than hurt. That 3rd goal was scored because Gomes failed to cover his man. Moorehouse was sat out after he gave up the puck for the second goal. Seems that Gomes can fail many times during a game and still get lots of ice time.

I do not see why this guy is getting all the ice time and PP and PK and Baca or Boyle sit. Even Herr would be better than this guy.

Ran into 'someone' I can't name or allude to at the game but got the following info... this is credible: Cameron is out a few more games, 2 cracked ribs but he is coming along nicely. Baca still doesn't speak/understand a word of english, probably why he is still sitting the occasional game. He apparently doesn't hang out with Bezak very much so no help in translation. Marquardt seeming to coast for 2 games for each good game is being attributed to 'soreness'. Don't know if it's a nagging injury or what but he's apparently in quite a bit of pain most the time... Didn't get any info on Murdock...

Any clues as to where the Wildcats went after 2 periods? I'm not sure who stole their uniforms and came out in the 3rd period Almost everyone stopped skating and stopped working in the 3rd period, it was pretty sad to watch. - If Bezak could actually finish on any of his glorious scoring chances we would have won. Unfortunately he only seems to know how to score at the KCI in Bathurst. - Mangan had an off-game to say the least as he made way too many poor passes. Gomes just made way too many poor plays period, not sure why he constantly continues to come out in front of his own net. - Marquardt's "work ethic" seemed to have rubbed off on Lessard. Both of them were barely moving their legs and just standing around watching the play way too often. - Morehouse was doing his job in the 1st and 2nd period getting Sea Dog players off their games but the night was over for him after that AWFUL no look backhand clearance attempt that lead to a Saint John goal. - Barberio should have used THE move! It's worked so far and there was no reason to change it up. Having said that we didn't deserve to win anyways and I'm almost glad we didn't pull out a win in the shootout. It would have been an absolute joke of a win after the 3rd period we played. - Oh and nice to see Brenton finally score a goal and as Pens called earlier in the game if he scored it would be a bit of a lucky one.

About Bacca:
His English is improving every day.....he understands what is being said.....it takes him a little longer than you or I to answer back.........
It is nt that he is not smart....it is because he is a little on the shy side, and does not want to say the wrng thing and be made fun of
About Bacca and Bezak nt talking.......not true....they go to schl together and spend every off day together...........they are great friends

This was the first game I saw in Moncton since Sid Crosby was in the league, so I dunno a lot about the building, other than it's older than I am...
Is the ice slow on purpose? Or maybe they just don't freeze the pucks all the way. I would think one or the other, if not both. It cuts down the effectiveness of the cross-ice pass, and I'm sure visiting players have a harder time adjusting to it than the home team. When you shoot a routine dump-in from outside the blueline and the puck is bouncing almost as high as the boards as it passes behind the net, you know something's up.
Seems like the half-assed "cleaning" before the shootout actually made it worse in front of Lavigne, not better. IMO the snow on the ice slowed the movement a lot and made the poke-check really effective.
Has anyone alerted the SPCA about that weird noise every time the "Cats score? Sounds like animal torture to me.
All in all, not a bad game experience though...decent, cheap food...reasonable lineups for the bathrooms or concessions...I actually like the tribute to former "Cats in the NHL in the back corner of the rink...it's good to see where Afenasankov developped into the softest player in the NHL...P
Morehouse is excellent comedy relief too...scared little turtle against Stich, but as soon as they were both safely enclosed in the penalty box, he started shouting and gesturing madly. Funny how he seemed to find his man-parts as soon as the door to the penalty box was closed, and he knew he was safe.
Oh, and did anyone else see Howes skate overly close to the Moncton bench after he scored in the shootout?
