Great reply bifocal and while I get the facts from your reply, I can't understand that you finish 4th after the M/C last year and didn't lose much, Gaudet, MacDonald and one other d-man. That is why I thought you should finish mid pack this year.

That is why I thought you should finish mid pack this year. We don't miss Gaudet as much as we miss MacDonald and Welton on the point. MacDonald had 58 points and Welton had 62. I think that's the biggest difference between this year and last year.. and the fact Cameron isn't putting up the numbers we thought he would. Also we thought Brannon would add some offense, which he hasn't.

Embrace the loses, its been a long time since we've had the first or second draft choices. It going to be very exciting especially with some of the draft choices from this year. That plus extra trades from LaBelle and perhaps Riopel. Short term pain long term gain.
After that, I liked Baca on defense last night. Huge improvements and he is coming along. I noticed that sometimes he will turn sideways to body an offensive player at the blueline. Two things happen, he takes himself totally out of the play by turning sideways and two the offenseman offloads to another who has a shot at the net. I think they will stop him from doing that and it will help him.

Brannon probably would have more points if he was on the top 2 lines. Kinda hard to do it on an energy line and pk line for points. Personally i feel if you put brannon with mangan, i think youd have a guy who can stand in front of the net and hit garbage.. but thats my opinion

There are some lines that Flynn juggles and some he leaves. Some of his juggling has paid off lately and Brannon and Sills could benefit from a juggle.

You guys do both realize we have one line we can count on to show up every night and you guys are trying to break up that line?

Im not trying to break up the line Penguin.. Im just saying if brannon would be on the top 2 line he would have more points. It sad when your third line is the best line. The third line at times has more heart then the whole team most times. Sometime i do wonder though if you put one of those energy players on the top line would it make the other players wanna play hard or not... i dunno

The "energy" line is also usually up against the other teams top line so it is a lot tougher to generate pts that way. If you break up that line who can you use to shut down the top lines?

I agree with Ace and Penguin. You can't break up Morehouse-Sill-Brannon, unless you get a guy with Morehouse's drive and more skill, something we do not have on this team.
That being said, I think getting Mardquart back with Magnan (as Steve or Billy have suggested) would create more offense. The whole "spreading out the offense" is obviously not working.

I'd put Lavigne in nets next game...Seems to be doing a little better than Riopel.

Rio seems to make alot of saves in the games but the last few games i noticed that the game winners were just bad goals. maybe he could be on the those goalies who always makes the tough saves but just can't stop the easy ones. i would trade him for an 18 year old d, go with lavinge this year and keep him as an overage with sill and eagles

Against Bathurst: Wildcats turn the puck over in their own zone. Shot from the point with traffic in front, Riopel makes the save, puck goes to Perreault who roofes the puck into the top corner. I don't know of one goalie in the QMJHL who makes that save. Against PEI: Wildcats are shorthanded, but Walker and Morrison come across the line together. Walker makes a beautiful pass to the front of the net where Morrison is all alone, left there by Barberio. Riopel is moving from his right to his left, while Morrison is moving from Riopel's left to his right. Again, absolutely no chance. The only debatable game winner I can think of right now is Faille's in Bathurst. Some people think it was a weak wrist shot, while some people say that it was a well placed shot with a screen by Pianosi. Who are the 18 year olds you would go after? The only one comparable to Riopel right now is D'Orso in Val-d'Or and there's no way in hell that a 1 for 1 deal with these two makes any sense. How you can blame the last two losses against Riopel (specially the Bathurst game as he was the sole reason as to why the Wildcats got to overtime) is ridiculous.
