Why post this without something to back it up? Looks like meaningless speculation to me.

Wow..gotta wonder where you guys get your info? Check the stats my friends and tell me what do the other D have that Gomes doesn't bring?
Wrist shots at the shins...atleast it gets somewhere as opposed to going a mile wide off the mark. His play is getting better. U shuld stick to driving the zamboni..

You really should watch a few games. Stats don't tell the whole story. Just watch him in his own zone when the opposing team is pressuring our defense. He is slow, makes poor decisions with and without the puck and a lot of times floats around looking lost. One decent hit does not show improvement or make him effective. He doesn't have a lot of confidence and is easily panicked. He gets lots of ice time and NEVER rides the pine. Hell, he should have better stats. As for his wrist shots, for the most part they are slow, weak and often do not make it to the net. Some don't even leave the ice. By the way, they park the Zamboni right behind the net, ice level, where you can get a really good view. You should try it some time....

Oh believe me I do watch the games....in the stands and on the net. Yah I know stats don't tell the whole story about a player...look at team as a whole. Not gonna slag anyone like you seem to be doing by the comment "why wait until Christmas...why not Thursday". Tell me that your comment shows a real strong knowledge of the game. Everyone was busting the chops of the kid cuz he made a lot of mistakes...looking at the last few games (and I've been there), he has shown improvements...more than one decent hit...panicked? ....tell me when that has happened. Wrist shots atleast are on the net...as you know in the hopes of one of our guys deflecting it into the net..where you say you are standing. Slap shots that are wide of the net serve no purpose....and in the stands, where I am sitting, there are a few D that do that on a consistent basis -- that's not the way you score goals.
