I just wanted to take this moment to recognize a player on the Saint John Sea Dogs.
I coach a Bantam AA team here in KVMHA. Earlier this month we had a 6 a.m. practice at the Quispamsis Arena. While the coaches were preparing for the ice in walked Yann Sauve. We were floored. Here was this young junior player taking time, early in the morning, on his off day, to come on the ice and work with our team. Yann's connection with the team is through his billet, David and Karen Losier, whose son Dawson is one of our goalies. We had extended an open invitation for Yann to join us at any practice but never dreamed he would be out at a 6 a.m. It spoke volumes to the coaches and to the boys and girl on our team. It was such an unselfish, kind and thoughtful act. Yann did not do it to impress or to be recognized. He did not come because he was required. He came because he thought of others. It speaks of his character, his commitment and willingness to sacrifice for others.
Yann is a credit to the Sea Dogs organization. Such qualities should be recognized. His generous attitude will take him a long way in the game and in life.
I wish you all continued success and am grateful for the Saint John Sea Dogs.
