They came out today and Sauve is 21st overall amongst NA Skaters. Thomas is 5th round amongst NA Skaters. Amyot is 6th round amongst NA Skaters. Mayer is the 15th NA Goalie.

I can't see Mayer being the 15th best NA goaltender that's not even including the Euro guys.

Heck we don't even play Thomas how did this happen?? Thought Amyot would have moved up the rankings with his play this year but I guess that is why I don't make these lists.

CSB's preliminary rankings are usually a joke, their mid-season only do a rudimentary job on assessing players (prob only saw Mayer once), but their final rankings are usually pretty good.

But what has Mayer really done to deserve a higher ranking??
He has identical numbers to Jake Allen and he is a year older...
I like Mayer and all but he hasnt exactly lit the world on fire...

It's all about upside not just numbers seriously you think Mayer should be ranked 15th in NA goaltenders at that rate he'd be lucky to be drafted by the time you calculate all the Euro tenders as well. This is of course one scouting group some have him much higher we all know how this works I would be shocked if many more agreed with having him that low. I know you know more about scouting players then I do but numbers are one thing I don't think you go strickly by numbers he certainly has areas to work on as do most Jr age goaltenders but he's gotta be higher then 15 in NA. |

I havent seen all the goalies in the NA  But Mayer came in with a lot of hype and Fullerton has outplayed him... Mayer is a good goalie and he will eventually be a very good goalie but eventually you have to produce, and he hasnt done that... |

Let's hope the 2nd half is much better then ;D When the draft comes im pretty sure he will go a lot higher than the 15th goalie but i didnt think the ranking was that outlandish... |

This might actually be the best thing that could have happened to Mayer maybe it will make him realize he needs to keep working very hard to get his game to the next level.  |
