Goal scorer for Team Atlantic was Travis Randall Quebec out shot Atlantic 41-21 elemtz was wondering how Simon Despres was doing and in the tourament he had no points but 10 minutes in penilties As for the 9th place game Germany beat Slovakia 5-1 In the first semi final Team Ontario beat Team West 4-3 to advance to Fridays Gold Metal game. Tonight thefinal two games of the day (Jan 3 ) first was the 5th place game between Russia & Finland in St. Thomas and it was Russia that won 5-4 and to the 5th place. This game was a chippy and rough one as there was 20 minor peniltys (15 in the 3rd period ). In the other semi final between the USA & Team Pacific and it was Team USA that won 3-2 in a very exciting game. That saw Pacific come with in one goal with 30 seconds left but they just could not tie it.So tomorow it is Team USA (4-1) against Team Ontario (5-0).This should be a very exciting game as both starting goalies in this game are undefeited. This game is to be shown on TSN at 730 P.M. EST. In other CHL hockey news tonight the Kitchener Rangers (Host of 2008 Memorial Cup) have gotten stronger and will be considered favorates as they have aquired Steve Mason (London Knights ) goalie and Team Canada goalie in a 3 way deal with London ,Kingston & Kitchener .This has not been confirmed by London yet but both Kingston & Kitchener have confirmed that the deal is done. Watch for confirmation tomorrow.

First thing this will my last story on this subject.I would like to say hats off to Team Atlantic as yesterday (Jan 4th ) this team showed class as in the morning approx 2 hrs. before the Bronze Medal this team was out playing shinny at the market skating rink across from the JLC with kids that were there to skate. There is a good picture that made the front section of the Saturday edition of the London Free Press with Atlantic team members playing. People of the East Coast Provinces be proud of these kids as they put a good showing in this tourament.Finishing 8th is pretty good especially when they were the youngest team here. As for the tournament Team Canada should be very proud as this group of Canadian hockey players should bold well in the future with players like Brandon Gormley, Steve Anthony, from Team Atlantic and many more from the West to the East Canadian hockey is still strong and will continue The final game before 8,889 screaming fans which by the way is excellant considering these are 15,16,17 year old kids. These players will remember this forever.Team Ontario with a back up goalie as their starter (Michael Zador ) came up sick and their back up Bryce O'Hagen went out and shut out the USA 3-0 for the gold Medal. In the Bronze game Team West scored six goals in the second period to beat Team Pacific 9-6. Again this tourament was a sucess for Team Canada and the future looks excellant.
