Players of the month for October are Voracek, Desfosses, and Roy. I think Mayer got robbed. He had a 4-0, 2 SO, 1.75, and .936 versus Roy's 9-1, 2 SO, 2.14, and .916.

Your starting to sound like Fog Devil fans now, Roy played quite a few more games then Mayer.

He didn't get robbed at all. Roy has been unreal so far for us. Plus Mayer only played 4 games not 10 which means a lot too. He was considered most likely.

Yeah have to agree there... 9-1 does trump 4-0....Mayer will be there....give it time, nice to be gettin those shut outs...way to go "Swiss Guard".

Roy deserved the award hands down. I love Mayer but 4 games over an entire month? I wouldn't have even qualified him as a candidate. That wouldn't even make my minimum games played requirement.

9 wins in a month made this award a no brainer.

I think that 10 games should have improved his chances at Defensive player of the month, but simply playing more shouldn't take away from the quality of play. Mayer played in 5 games and didn't lose any. He posted as many shutouts, stopping a higher percentage of shots, and letting in less per game. These stats mean more to me, because he did better in the games that he did play.

Yes it should lol As long as the other stats are as good or near as good. 9-1 PLUS a 2.16 GAA and a .916 save % trumps Mayer's stats.... Maybe if Roy's numbers were 9-1 PLUS 3.45 and .878 than yeah id agree but come on for all intents and purposes there isnt a huge different between Mayer's and Roy's numbers...not a big enough difference to make up for 6 games difference.

Yeah BJ, Mayer played well but that is a real big homer statement, to say he deserved that award.
Glad you like Mayer though!
