I agee it is hard to read JB but with the trades and pick ups it looks like he is trying to save his ass with a winning season. If he goes big for the win tonight he will play two lines most of the game. However this could have a huge impact on the game at home tomorrow. If he wants Harbour Station filled he better put on a show at home but my fear is that this will not be the case. I see a tough lose in Halifax and then having a tired team in Saint John. The thrid and fourth liners will not have enough ice time or experience to hold us in the game and we lose by 5 goals. Some of the 5000 might give the Dogs a second look but if they get burned twice they will not be back. The only flaw I had with JB last year was how he overplayed guys and did not develop the talent pool and I am seeing the same thing again this year. If the two lines can do this for 70 games he is a hero but if not things could start going south quickly. The only line with chemistry is Dido's and then the others have been shuffled around every game. 4- 3 Halifax win tonight followed by a 5 goal lose at home. No way in hell this happens. The losing by 5 goals to Quebec part. Not from being outworked anyway. RedBlue do you pay attention to the other teams in this league at all, or just the Sea Dogs? I don't care how much JB pumps out our top two lines tonight. We certainly should not be any more fatigued than a Remparts team that will be on their third road game in three nights (Moncton, PEI, then us). Not saying we can't lose both games. We have a team that can win or lose against anyone, whether we are favored or the underdog. We just will not lose to Quebec because we're tired and they outwork us. They should be even more fatigued than us (and from what I've been told the Espo line went to work in Moncton, as much or more than JB works the Dido line). That excuse is out the window. If we get outworked on Saturday versus Quebec, fatigue would have nothing to do with it. It would be heart, determination, laziness, and just plain old "not wanting it bad enough". I don't see that happening. I see us taking a 4-2 loss or so in Halifax, then turning around and beating Quebec by the same score. And whichever goalie starts Saturday should have a much easier night than whoever gets the call against Halifax.

Wow! We've seen both extremes of Sea Dogs' fans in this thread. The unrealistically optimisitic and the unrealistically pessimistic.

I assume you know which 2 I was referring to. I agree with your post. Although I hope to be proven wrong I expect a tough loss tonight followed by a win tomorrow.

I'm really looking forward to this game mainly because Halifax has all their guys playing so this should be a good measuring stick for the Sea Dogs! No excuses for either team!
Sauve and Grant better be ready tonight cause the Euro's are gonna be coming at them all night long but I'm confident they will handle them & I assume it will be Mayer in net tonight and this will without a doubt be his biggest test so far in the Q. Gotta control as many rebounds as possible and slow the game down they don't wanna play run and gun with the Mooseheads that might get ugly in a hurry!
As for a prediction I know alot of people are taking the Mooseheads to win this one but I'm gonna say the Sea Dogs win a tight one 4-3. ;D

Ya, so they have to take them now while they're down How exactly is Halifax down? I'm sorry but that's got to be the biggest brain fart on this board. So you say they are peaking? Hardly. MacMillan and Voracek are freshly returned and injured. The rest of the troops are hardly in mid-season form. I suppose 5th place is acceptable. It is a playoff berth. Come off your cloud!

Wow! We've seen both extremes of Sea Dogs' fans in this thread. The unrealistically optimisitic and the unrealistically pessimistic. It's easy to criticize. Your butt must be getting sore from riding that fence. I've seen no unrealistic predictions. Anything can happen in junior hockey. IMO the pressure's all on Halifax. Good for them if they step up. I've predicted them to win it all as most do. But the situation as it stands favors a better than expected result for us.

I agree that anything CAN happen but you make it sound as though its LIKELY to happen. 5-1 Dogs is possible although highly unlikely. Especially for the reasons you give. You are trying too hard to turn an obvious positive for the Mooseheads (the return of MacMillan and Voracek) into a negative and I just can't buy it. But as a Dogs fan I hope you prove me wrong and yourself right.

All it takes is one little failure, then another, then you have a giant snowball. Each game takes on a life of its own. The Sea Dogs have dictated that lifestyle in all but maybe 5 or 6 periods so far this season. The setting is right; whether it happens or not is why we go to the games Either way it's another key game in the development of this team.

Seems to only wanna let me listen to the pro Halifaxz guys that seem to think Moncton along with AB and Halifax are said to be the class of the division and the wonderful background music EDIT: These guys are terrible can't even say their own players names!
