Here's your 3 stars
Francois Gauthier - #1 Alexandre Leduc - #2 PA Joncas - #3
Francois Gauthier impressed me tonight he really stepped it up and his speed got the Sea Dogs the eventual game winner. He was frustrating me of late but I'm gonna go have my humble pie now cause he got it done it that game!
So we're in 3rd place ahead of Moncton because of having more wins I think that's the first tiebreaker we also have 3 games in hand on them too!
GETCHA' POPCORN READY!!! THE TITAN ARE UP ON SUNDAY!!! ;D

ON A ROLL: Sea Dogs forward Payton Liske is the only QMJHL player with at least one point in all of his team's games. The Welland, Ont. product is on an eight-game point streak and has 11 points over that span. One thing is for sure about this game now. Thanks to the last paragraph of this article, Payton Liske will be getting no points tonight. Remember this!?!?!? Andrew McGilligan should be shot for putting the jinx on Liske, along with copy/paste-catcher for posting it!

Great game by the guys tonight, considering they drove 6 hours today on the bus, after the hotel denied them a late check out.
Mayer definately keeped the guys in the game in the third period with his AMAZING stick save on the wrap around (Which is at the 2hour mark on the broadcast, for those wishing to catch it on the replay).

The Oceanic came on in the third but the boys held on to the win. Good to see Mayer with his second straight strong game.

SEA DOGS ROUGH UP OCEANIC Alexandre Leduc Scores Game-Winner In 4-3 Victory Over Rimouski
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, October 12, 2007
RIMOUSKI, QC --- The Saint John Sea Dogs improved to 6-3 on the season Friday night, defeating the Rimouski Oceanic by a score of 4-3 at Le Colisée de Rimouski to earn their first road victory of the year over a Telus Division squad.
Freshman goaltender Robert Mayer, six days removed from his first career shutout and three days removed from his 18th birthday, turned in another stellar performance between the pipes for Saint John, making 27 saves on 30 shots to earn his fourth win of the season.
The Sea Dogs’ offensive output on Friday night was provided by veterans Alexandre Leduc and Alexandre Picard-Hooper as well as rookies Michael Kirkpatrick and Steven Anthony, who tallied his first career QMJHL goal on a breakaway in the third period.
Saint John had established a three-goal lead before the momentum-tide turned and the Oceanic mounted a late comeback attempt, with a last minute goal by Pierre-Alexandre Joncas cutting the Sea Dogs lead to a single tally. The visitors were able to hang on however, and escaped with a big 4-3 win.
“This was a big win for us,” said Head Coach/GM Jacques Beaulieu following the match. “It wasn’t pretty in the third, but we earned the two points and that’s all that matters. It’s never easy to win on the road in this league, so we’re definitely happy to be heading home with a victory.”
The Sea Dogs had their first big scoring chance of the night near the six minute mark of the first period on Friday, as Steven Anthony and Keven Charland entered the Oceanic zone a two-on-one break; Anthony fed Charland with a crisp pass, but the 18-year old was unable to beat starting Rimouski goaltender Michael Dupont despite getting off a solid shot.
The Oceanic went on the power play at the 7:18 mark of the first, as Saint John’s Scott Howes drew an interference call, one of only three penalties assessed to the visitors on Friday. The Sea Dogs nearly tallied a short-handed marker during the numerical discrepancy, with Francois Gauthier nearly beating Dupont with a low shot on an odd-man rush.
Howes then earned his first scoring opportunity of the night as he exited the penalty box and grabbed the loose puck, breaking in one-on-one with Oceanic defenseman Alexandre Neron; Howes made some impressive offensive moves in Rimouski’s zone, eventually getting off a decent shot that nearly beat Dupont on the short side.
The Sea Dogs then broke the scoreless tie at the 11:48 mark of the opening frame, as Michael Kirkpatrick tallied his second goal of the season with Steven Anthony and David Stich drawing assists as the visiting squad from Port City established a 1-0 lead. Saint John continued to apply heavy pressure deep in Rimouski’s end for the duration of the first period, as both Mike Thomas and Matthew Stoddard were denied on glorious scoring chances late in the frame, as some acrobatic goaltending by Dupont kept his team from incurring a multi-goal deficit as the first intermission got underway with the visitors out-shooting the home team by a tally of 11-7.
The second period saw the Sea Dogs continuing to apply heavy pressure in Rimouski’s zone, as Alexandre Picard-Hooper tipped a Pascal Amyot shot past Dupont to earn his fourth goal of the season 6:04 into the middle frame. Saint John’s stellar defensive unit played exceptionally well in Friday night’s second period, keeping Rimouski’s forwards from setting up any discernable scoring opportunities while surrendering only three shots on goal during the twenty minute session, all of which were blocked by Mayer with ease.
An impressive individual effort by Steven Anthony gave the Sea Dogs a 3-0 lead early in the third period. After taking a pass from Francois Gauthier, the 16-year old centre bore down upon Dupont uncontested, faking a backhand shot prior to switching to his forehand and sliding the puck past the recently-duped Oceanic net minder to earn his first career QMJHL goal.
The home team finally got on the scoreboard at the 6:42 mark of the third, as Maxime Gratchev beat Mayer to the short side, ending the Swiss import’s shutout streak at 116:01 – a franchise record. Mayer surrendered another goal at the 16:09 mark of the frame to Emmanuel Boudreau, but a tally off the stick of Alexandre Leduc shortly thereafter restored the two-goal Saint John advantage.
With just under a minute left in regulation, Pierre-Alexandre Joncas scored for the Oceanic to pull the home team to within one of Saint John’s lead, but that would be as close as Rimouski would get on Friday, and the Sea Dogs escaped with a 4-3 road victory.
Up next for Saint John is a Sunday afternoon tilt with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The action gets underway at 4:00pm at Harbour Station, as the Sea Dogs look to earn their fifth consecutive home win at the expense of their provincial rivals.

Don't suppose someone has highlights since the douchebags at Telus don't have the game archived even though it says they do?

Being at the the game, the Sea Dogs were flat the first 10 mins of the game. Mayer kept them in early with some big saves. The Sea Dogs ted the end the of the first and all of the second period. The first goal the Oceanic scored wasn`t Grant fault. I thought the Oceanic player ran Grant causing the turnover. Leduc fight was pretty good. He started off slow by taking a few shots, but came on strong to take the decision. The Sea Dogs looked like they ran out of gas after the Oceanic scored their first goal. It was a gutsy effort of the Oceanic to make a game out of it with all their injuries. I thought Mayer and Anthony should of been two of the three stars tonight. Anthony saved a goal because of him back checking. The goal he scored was a beauty. Fullerton has brand new equipment. I thought at first Passingham was the back up. Good game to watch though, and the fans were pretty good as well. There was a few hecklers but not as bad as Harbour Station!!!
