Jacques Beaulieu was interviewed this morning on Radio-Canada's Le Réveil.
He said that all the players who were away at camp should arrive today, and as such, it should be a full lineup tomorow night in Lewistong.
When asked what role Fullerton would play this year, Beaulieu admitted he was preoccupied with the fact that Mayer has played at most 22 games in a full season up to now. So to start the season, Fullerton and Mayer will be splitting the duties 50/50 untill they see how well Mayer can keep up with the huge leap in workload.
He also admitted that this is a team that will have a lot of difficulty to score goals. The talent is there, but it's still very young and the focus of the team is on defence, where its strengh resides.
As for Stephen Anthony, he said if he can get 15 goals and 25 assists this season, he will be more then happy.
Finally, he said that getting into the playoffs this year would be like winning the Stanley Cup to this franchise. Wtv... lol.
That's all I remember really!

I don't really understand why JB would say making the playoffs this year is like winning the Stanley Cup to this franchise. I would have thought that JB should have guaranteed a playoff spot for this team. The players and fans deserve some motivation, this comment seems like a step backwards.

I would assume he meant the Stanley Cup comment in the context that after two years of missing the playoffs with crap teams and no chance really, and the no hockey layoff from when the Flames left, finally getting into the playoffs this year would be celebrated like our equivalent of a Stanley Cup.
Not that with the team we got, if we make the playoffs it's like winning the Stanley Cup. As in it will be as difficult as that task. On the interview he did on news88.9 he seemed confident we had a good shot at the playoffs if we played to the team's capabilities.

He would say this so that when they make the playoffs, which they will, he looks like a genius behind the bench and it covers his butt if they don't make it. Simple politics.

Haha, whatever... it's more like what Leask posted earlier. What's with you and JB anyway, he steal your wife or something? You really go out of your way to make negative comments about him, just wondering why?

I wasn't being negative towards JB I was just making a fairly obvious point. It is good maneuvering by him to paint that scenario.

The magician states a typical response from someone who expects bad things to happen. Some people just can't stand to see a team/person do well.Always throwing the negative to a situation. How about everyone just throw their support this young team and hope for the best. The coaching staff and players will look after the rest.

Making the playoffs will be a great thing in that the fans will finally have something to really cheer about after two years of Tipper's teams. It should also get more people interested in the team and building the fan base back up to where it was the first. But in all fairness the former (keyword former) front offices types did more to drive fans and potential fans away then the the teams performance.
