SEA DOGS TRAINING CAMP MOVES BACK TO SAINT JOHN The Saint John Sea Dogs announced today that the team’s previously scheduled Labour Day Weekend practices at CFB Gagetown have been cancelled. The team will instead be skating at the Stewart Hurley Arena in Saint John on Sunday, September 2 (8:30-10:45am) and on Monday, September 3 (8:00-9:30am).
Head Coach/General Manager Jacques Beaulieu has also announced that 16-year old forward Phillipe Richer has been released from the team’s Training Camp Roster. Twenty-five players now remain in camp.
Richer was selected by the Sea Dogs in the fourth round of the 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft. The 5’11”, 175 lb. native of Lachute, Quebec played with the Laurentides Vikings (QCMAAA) last season, scoring seven goals in 44 games.
Saint John (1-0-1) will play Lewiston (2-2) later tonight in QMJHL pre-season action. The game gets under way at 7:00pm EST/8:00pm AST at Androscoggin Bank Coliseum.
