I'm not going to complain as I called him going long ago. It's better having those picks than letting kids waste away on the pines.
He's a great kid and player. I hope all the best for him.

Time will tell if this is a good move or not. We are losing a good player, but more importantly a leader and quality kid that seems to have been a great help in the room for younger french guys. Not sure who will fill the leadership void in that department, but hopefully somebody can. I guess this means McNeil is safe.

well........i really dont know what to say about this,im probably the biggest and and maybe the only rioux fan here in the dogpound aleady marked the date when the sags come to town.this is a big dissapointment on my behalf.he is a great player and kid and was a major leader on and off the ice,he will be missed ,but all i ask is please dont keep mcneil, that would be a big mistake,im really getting worried about these last couple of moves.by the way why and the hell is troy passingham still on the team ,we dont need another arron Barton or Riley Whitlock on the team, bye for now a new username for season3 will be annouced shortly,it will be names after my new favorite player

I wouldn't have been surprised to see him awarded an assistant captain position on this team this year...but to be traded less than 48 hrs. later is really strange in my opinion, I guess JB sees more in Mcdonald and Pisano than I did ...GOOD LUCK in Chi. sebass you played well here and will be hard to replace for a rookie!!

Not sure who will fill the leadership void in that department, but hopefully somebody can. I guess this means McNeil is safe. I think Grant's and Sauve's recent performances probably took care of those leadership concerns. Though he's a solid #3 or #4 on most teams, his value here was dropping with Amyot and Despres ready to pass him this year. This move will let our top 4 be the top 4. They can now put up bigger minutes without having to rotate Rioux into the mix. Otherwise either he or Amyot were looking at reduced time which is wrong for each. He'd also probably not return next year as a 20. Getting decent draftpicks for a FA is a bonus. It must be tough for him leaving us as we're about to break out, but it is a logical move.

I would have supported a move like this more last year when we obviously we going to miss the playoffs. That way guys like Grant, Stich, Sauve and Amyot would have got more playing time and been better prepared for this year. I also felt we overplayed D-Mac last year too instead of developing younger guys.
JB is making some risky moves IMO. Too bad not the one I was hoping for. Good luck to Rioux on his new team.
