This is just something I heard last week, but he works for the Sea Dogs so maybe its true. Last year JB had a very tight leash on Gallant, and he knew he wasn't allowed to fight at will. Apparently he wants the all time fighting majors record for one year....I couldn't find such a record, anyone have any idea? Word is that this year JB is going to leash out almost to were he can go when he wants, and allow him to go for the record...This alone would get me to more sea dogs games. Anyone have any thoughts on this/heard this before? This sounds like a very bad rumour made up by a "not in the know" member of the front office or something. And here is why: Brett will be lucky to get the icetime he got last year because now the team is deeper and better. He seemed to be on a pretty loose leash last year, racking up 30 fights. I don't know why anyone would think he wasn't pretty much fighting at will last season. He is a feared fighter that will not find as many takers this season. I think this must be rumour to sell tickets or something.

Well i would agree with you he wouldn't pound any of those guys the way he did the guys over the last few years. But not all of them played at the same time either, I think you could get him pretty close to the top 10 in the last 10....I mean Since Jody Shelley there wasn't anyone who tore through the league like him. Have you not heard of Jonathan Tremblay? The Hammer had some great fights up here in Bathurst. Well liked by his teammates and great person off the ice as well. Seen a few bouts when he was MAD and they were scary. I kind of laugh when the organization gives a new "tough guy" number 34 and says that he is gonna be the next Tremblay...way too much pressure there. I am not saying that number should be retired but I think that maybe for the next 4-5 years don't give it out to enforcers.

Honestly I haven't heard of J.Trembly...I will have to check him out somtime on youtube. This guy would be in the know, and just because he might get less ice doesn't mean he will get in less fights. I think he will be between 35-40 fights this year...
Yea I agree with you on the number thing, if he was a huge heavy then you can't give a guy that number expecting the same things from him. Tough guys have a tough enough job as it is, they don't need expectations like that.

Honestly I haven't heard of J.Trembly...I will have to check him out somtime on youtube. Tremblay completely dominated the league even moreso than Cormier through the 02-03 and 03-04 seasons. In 55 fights in the QMJHL he never lost and he had much better competition than Cormier did. Gallant won't end up with more than 25-30 fighting majors. There just isnt the competition, there are getting fewer and fewer fighters around.

i do know that the Penaltie record would be something that could probely not be broken , because before if you would get a 10 they would count it has a 10 againts you and now it does not show and at the old time the fighters would have automatic 10 because they would take there helmets off

Misconducts don't count towards PIm totals I thought. I believe Pascal Morency is to thank for that one after his near 600 PIM season a few years back ;D

And I won't have wannabe CTU agents lying to people. ;D

Bring back Almeda so he can cock his head sideways and speak in his half whispering voice.
