i cant believe they guranteed maccaron a spot(if its true ouch)...........i know desveaux isnt the most skilled guy but the energy he brings to the team and would do anything for the team too hes a great teamplayer.........i dont see anything special in maccaron hes gonna be 19, im not sure if hes a grinder, sniper or playmaker, hes just on the ice when i see.....at least marco has a pesty grinding presense when u see him and the eagles could use more guys with his heart.......... why would u guarantee a spot to maccaron and not to desveaux when there both the same age and desveaux is better........maccaron also never made midget major.......and now he jumped in the Q.........is there something going on under the table that we dont know about?

It is an Education issue . He intended to go to X , last year . Mario became smitten with him during Training Camp and seen him as some sort of project . When his ice time was way down he was told to stay the course and he would "play" regularly this coming season .......he came within an eyelash of transferring to X after X-Mas last year according to what I was told .

........maccaron also never made midget major.......and now he jumped in the Q........ McCarron almost made the Halifax Wolverines in 06-07, and was offered a spot on the Tradesmen when he came home, but opted to play high school instead.

McCarron was an early cut from the Wolverines in 06-07, he didn't come close to making that team that year. It looks like there is something more to his connection to the team than what is known publicly.

He is better of going to school, get an education play some hockey while going to school if you can but the important thing is school. Obviously if your on the taxi squad in the Q you are not going to make a living playing hockey. Too many kids are being brainwashed be these so called hockey experts and in the end the kids get burnt.

Time will tell ! I just hope that the kid ends up happy whether that's playing as a regular with the Eagles or studying at X while playing JR A or JR B or Intramural for that matter .

Just a few catch-up thoughts : - Luke Adam just might be the best talent to play here since James Sheppard . He is motivated getting out of Montreal and is eager to show Buffalo that he can play in the AHL next year = "a monster year " ! He can't go back home so Cape Breton is his best choice . He remembers the Playoffs here .........I'm sure he is really happy ! - Can't comment on Micallef or Deveaux , other than Bernard being here , the JR A Dee drafted and invited most likely doesn't make things easy for them....... but McCarron is back for sure . Apparently he and his parents were given some sort of assurances by Mario . - If 2 Euro snipers are Drafted / show up and be productive , the Offence might just score enough to be Upper Crust . Let's face it with the returning Dee ( Ward being the Key ) and our Goaltending, we shouldn't get blown out too often . If this JR A guy they drafted can play safely on your 3rd pairing ......we could surprise . We have the Dee , we have the Goaltending , we have a loon ................so bring in 2 Euro goal scorers .............easy...............isn't it ? I get a real sense that Mario doesn't see himself here for a long time though ! Let's face it , the guy coached our World U20 Junior Team ! The highest honour a JR Coach can obtain did he really see himself still in Junior 5-6 years later ? . The troubling thing is that he has bounced all around the Q ........why is that ? I think it may be because he is not patient enough to oversee a Rebuilding Phase ! His desire to get to the next level is what drives this philosophy of "just go for it baby" and perhaps is the reason why he never sets down any kinda roots anywhere............my thoughts on his style anyway ! Good post.....some thoughts.... -On Adam: I think the big thing for him is the fresh start. I don't think playoffs or anything else here really matters, and neither does how close we are to Newfoundland. I agree he has potential to be one of the biggest offensive threads in the league. -It's scary to think the team would guarantee Mccarron a spot when he should be in the same boat as someone like Deveaux who is a better overall player then him imo. I really hope that's not the case. It McCarron was such a large part of the future why did he play in ONE playoff game? -On the Euro's: Even the most optimistic Eagle fan can't expect 2 Euro snipers. 1 top 6 Euro forward and 1 "project" is about the best we can hope for. There's a reason the team was looking into Piscacek coming back....they know finding 2 impact players for next year is unrealistic. -Not sure what you mean with Durocher. He's never been a GM before so he's never had any control on the overall direction the team was going in. In Bathurst he took on a rebuilding effort and they canned him after a few weeks. I think that's more a case of a team not having any direction then a coach not having any. If a guy coaching here doesn't see himself becoming more then a coach at this level then I don't want him coaching my team. I want someone constantly striving to get to the highest level possible, but running a franchise into the ground after 2 or 3 years isn't the way to do that and that's where we're headed if we keep trading multiple assets for 19yr olds. Durocher was in Bathurst for about 5 months, not a few weeks. And he was canned because he lost the dressing room filled with veteran players not a rebuilding team. Players quit on him and it was obvious. The team ended up going 7 games with Quebec in the semis, the year Que won the Mem Cup. Pretty directionless....

Great to see Roy in the final four!! Hope to see him suit up in the red and white in December. From the comments on the article it seems TSN did wonderful research and had Roy playing for Montreal. They quickly updated the article. INteresting how they randomly put Roy's first last name there (Bellevance). Also, a couple people commented on RIopel not being ranked highly and not considered for this role given his success the last couple years. And, yes, interesting to see Chouinard ranked so highly. Good for him.

Barberio, Savard, Jodoin, Gormley, Boyle and Dimitruk is far from an awful defense.

Didn't Durocher start the season before that ... replacing Couturier after an 0-12 start (or something like that) ? That was a rebuilding team if I recall correctly and then the next year ... 05-06 ... after a few key off-season trades ... they were a stronger team who lead the division for the 1st half ... mainly because they always had 5 more games played than Moncton. So he was there for almost a complete season in 04-05 ... and then a little more than half the season in 05-06 ... fired in February-ish ... so more than 5 months. Please correct me if I my memory is off.
