www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=259163&sc=146SYDNEY — By name, it seems like a logical fit. The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced they have signed a three-year radio broadcast deal with 103.5 The Eagle. The deal was announced by the team, Tuesday. The fledgling radio station, owned in part by NewCap Radio, will broadcast all 68 Eagles games along with their playoff contests. The Screaming Eagles open the 2009-10 season at home Sept. 11 when they host the Halifax Mooseheads at Centre 200 at 7 p.m.

Not at all suprised by this considering the amount of in game presentation led by the NewCap radio group which has put a lot of money into this market since it's launch. I wonder if we'll have a new announcer?

Super! Makes sense "The Eagle" covers "The Eagles"!! Hopefully will be clearer sound with the fm channel. I'd prefer keeping Kenny rather than trying to get used to someone else......unless that someone else is a regular contributor to this board.....

I thought similar but know that the station is one of the hottest new businesses around, really getting involved in the community, so i checked the meaning of 'fledgling' and it actually means 'newcomer: any new participant in some activity" so that makes more sense, eh?

Yeah the Eagle absolutely crushed CJCB in the last ratings battle so I see this as a very positive move for the franchise.

Don't like to see someone lose a job, but that aside I would like to hear a new more positive announcer, someone who does play by play and leaves the analyzing to the 'guests'!

No one is irreplaceable! Ii thought Ryan MacDonald did a great job when he was on with Kenny, and would be very good as the announcer. He is very knowledgeable on the Q and hockey in general.

ken macneil has a good knowledge of the game but is horribly hard on many players, he has an annoying voice but knows his stuff. Surely to god they can do better than this arrogant know it all who does nothing more than serve himself huge helpings of " ego boosting negative comments about people who are developing. if he thinks this is going to get him into the big leagues, he better look in the mirror, cause he is not there.
