ken macneil has a good knowledge of the game but is horribly hard on many players, he has an annoying voice but knows his stuff. Surely to god they can do better than this arrogant know it all who does nothing more than serve himself huge helpings of " ego boosting negative comments about people who are developing. if he thinks this is going to get him into the big leagues, he better look in the mirror, cause he is not there. ouch

Well I hope Ryan MacDonald is the new voice of the Eagles . He has the passion and went to school to train for just such an opportunity . On a side note , I hope he starts making some half decent money so he can finally start eating well again....................the boy looks way too skinny ! ;D

I would take a good listen to some of the other teams' play-by-play guys before being too critical of Ken MacNeil. He is critical when it is justified. He is equally complimentary as well. From his perspective, he's seen these players' play and practice more than any of us and if he's seen the same mistake from the same player eight games in a row, why shouldn't he comment on it? He is unfailingly enthusiastic. I have heard a few of the other team's home(r) play-by-play guys and at least Kenny sounds like he's interested and excited about the game he's doing regardless of how the Eagles are playing. He has a tendancy to play-up the physical side of the game and an Eagles player rarely loses a fight Kenny is describing but this too brings the listener closer to the game. Doing 68 one-man shows a season and interviewing teenagers who are not very articulate at times is no easy gig.

I like his style, his passion and his ability to question decisions. He is not a yes man for sure but there are sometimes when he will go a little overboard.

I wonder if the radio station will now be looking for a TV deal - in Glace Bay CJCB is on Channel 13 (ad channel, real estate, etc), The Cape is on headline news channel 4. I've found it very convenient to just turn on the tv to listen to the games at home. There's still the TV guide channel perhaps, although there's often spoken ads there which would really get annoying.

I have to agree with Christopher for the first time. I also like Kenny. When I am working I look forward to Kenny's enthusiasm.

No problem Christopher. It makes sense as far as I am concerned. Kenny has been calling the games for how long now. He is part of the team.
