We're only a few days from training camp opening and I thought i'd do a poll to see what the expectations are for what seems to me to be one of our more intriguing rookies coming into camp in last years NS Midget scoring leader.
The knock obviously is his age, Chiasson was a 17yr old last season playing against 15 and 16yr olds.
He ran away with the league scoring lead with more then 21 points over the guy who finished 2nd and led the league in goals and assists.

Well if i was going by his stats i would say he would make the team . As of right now , i will go on gut feeling and say 4th liner . That could change after watching him on the first few days.

The knock isnt so much his age, but his skating.
The other issue with Chiasson is I have yet to see him actually throw a body check, and ive watched him for 2 years. He is not suited to being a 4th line type of player. No one can question his hands and offensive abilities. He is kind of the polar opposite of a Marco Desveaux.

Has always been timid but has alot of skill. For him to be affective he needs to play with good players, burying him on the fourth line will not bring out his best. Hopefully last year was a breakout year for him. If he is in shape and wants it bad enough, I think he could play this year. If he has the same mentality and drive he has had pretty much all of his playing carrer, he will not cut it in Major Junior. Time will tell on this one.
