Actually I think congratulations are in order. Ranked ahead of the goalie who beat Canada in the world junior final, the scouts think we have a special one here.
Suprised, he has impressed me since the first training camp he was at. We have seen stretches of spectaculiar goaltending this year from Mathieu. I think the scouts see the potential of a big kid with a quick glove who is getting better at being in the right position to use his size.
Consistancy takes time with some goalies, I think he will get there.

Campbell is ranked ahead of Corbeil...
I think Corbeil still gets picked...but i think CSB has him over ranked...it has a lot to do with the fact hes 6'06

Sorry Campbell second Corbeil third. I guess I was a little suprised to see him so close. Size is part of why Corbeil is up there. I think potential is the second part, and sometimes potential is not realizes, sometimes it is. I just knoe he has made some amazing saves this year and I hope he devolops and realizes the potential others see in him.

All of those kids are ranked based on potential though, they are 17 and 18....and wont be in the NHL until they are likely 21 and 22...
Corbeil has potential, but so does everyone else on that list.

Campbell is a very good athlete but a trainwreck in terms of technique, he looked like a fish out of water at the WJHC.

Good athlete and quick for a big guy... consistancy and improving on rebounds is what he needs to keep working on.

Corbeil has played well, but I must say I'm a bit surprised to see him ranked 3rd. He had that great stretch back in November which kind of put him on the map, and while he hasn't been bad since then, he has been a bit inconsistant. Not knocking him, he's played a lot of hockey, with a very young team in front of him, but he's had some games, and some goals that haven't been the greatest.
It's always hard to gauge how much stock the scouts will put in his stats etc, and compare that and put it in perspective in terms of the team he is playing behind. I guess with this ranking, they're giving him the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it will give him a boost and he can get his 1st Q shutout this week, cause it appears that's what it's going to take to get off the shnide here lol.

Matt is a good player and will get drafted this year hoping with Montreal ,I hope now that we have Peter that Cam will give him a few nights off really played his heart out in the first half as other goalie was not ready for Q action and needs some time to get his game ready and Junior "A" will do that for him and if Matt in the next 24 games gets in 8 starts he will be excellent in those games for sure...Great stuff Matt this is your year do yourself well ....

Can you imagine where he might have ranked if he'd been given a decent number of games last year to gain more experience?

He was not ready for the extra work last season and was also over worked in first half of season but his will to be successful came through and that is why scouts are really seeing him as a real NHL goalie for the future...

I'm surprised, not so much that he is ranked high, but that he is ranked ahead of Domingue. As for Clermont, haven't seen enough of him obviously but still kind of surprised there in a way that Corbeil is ranked ahead of him based upon rep.
